Delhi law firm Lexport opened an office in Bangalore and announced its first two associate partners Mukesh Yadav and Mukul Chandra, previously senior associates with the firm. Yadav heads the firm’s new Bangalore office with a team of two associates which the firm will grow to around six immediately.
Lexport managing partner Srinivas Kotni said: “We have now grown to a partnership [effective] April.”
Kotni told Legally India that while the firm focuses on indirect taxes and corporate commercial work, Bangalore currently has a mix of litigation and corporate transactions.
The firm also promoted associate Ankita Singh to senior associate, and junior associates Shikha Bhardwaj and Sumit Wadhwa to associates.
Lexport initially inducts freshers as junior associates, and then promotes them to associate level usually after they have spent around one-and-a-half year at the firm.
The firm currently also has two principal associates which Kotni said were equivalent to associate partners in the firm. Excluding four associate of counsels, who do not work full time with the firm, 20 lawyers are currently retained by Lexport.
