According to authoritative sources, three Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas non-equity partners Ganesh Rao, Dhruv Singhal and Anu Tiwari have handed in their notice today and will join AZB & Partners with the head of their team, Ashwath Rau, who announced his departure earlier this month.
Ganesh Rao (pictured left) had been promoted to salaried partner level in 2015, while Tiwari (pictured centre) and Singhal (right) were elevated earlier this month.
All are corporate partners, with Rao specialising in private equity and funds, and Singhal and Tiwari in general corporate.
Dhruv Singhal and Anu Tiwari are respectively 2007 NLSIU Bangalore and NUJS Kolkata graduates.
We have reached out to Ashwath Rau, Cyril Amarchand managing partner Cyril Shroff, and AZB managing partner Zia Mody for comment.

HARVEY ka naam Anu nahi ho sakta please.Maaf Karo aur chasma badlo.
Had someone said the same lines about a female partner, every neuron in your body would have showcased your 'Feminist' views and instincts.
Mistake = Thinking Delhi is more important than Mumbai
Serious Mistake = Asking Mumbai to carry Delhi on it's back; instead of taking Delhi to task - for the failure to meet targets
Grave Mistake = Putting unproven Delhi partners on a pedestal; degrading Mumbai partners, long part of the organization, to the ground.
Ego = Not assuming responsibility for making the above mistakes.
Fallacy = Thinking the above were right decisions. Thinking more Committees = better decision making. Thinking, BCG is there for us.
Error of Judgement = A manager, not a leader, is assigned to run an institution.
Blind Eye = Find all problems in hiding. Ignore those that are staring right in the face.
Arrogance = It's not my fault. It's everybody Else's fault.
Cataclysmic = Their exits won't make a difference. It's business as usual.
Fool's Paradise = We will remain No. 1
Stubbornness - There is nothing wrong. It's just a phase we are going through.
The End = Coming soon
I suck at vowels.
Will Subalakshmi leave? she is Dhruv's wife and is a partner in CAM
Shadow practice is it, from Cyril to Zia, and no standing of their own? No lessons learnt from Abhijit Joshi, Vishnu Jerome, Rohit Das etc
Anu looks really great, but let's also focus on the work and loyalty he has given to the firm over the years, which is commendable. And he has been consistently promoted over the years, there is a reason for that: he deserves it and he is a star!
Only an ignorant or disgruntled soul can question otherwise - biggest blow to the 'homegrown' story!
Exactly this kind of 'lawyers are cattle' mentality has brought this place to where it is now and headed in future... lesson for all.
Please do a 1 year report card on SAM and CAM.
Kaun jeeta kaun hara, duniya ko batao!?
Mr. Shroff has not done his proper due--diligence before making the partner.
Anyways a lot to come in few days/ weeks.
[...] may join him from SAM soon in Delhi.
No offense but these partners are new and it will be unusual for any of them to have a proper market rep or rainmaking prowess. So lets stop this practice for a public forum which strives to he independent.
Partners coming for campus placements said that salaries will increase to 18L by 2017. Will they be able to afford this now?
Trilegal he le lete ab toh. :P
Every leadership that failed, first was blind to the obvious. Then ignored the rising tide. Then, went under.
law officers, GC all are sham, all decisions whom to hire are taken at "Malik" Level, therefore please understand everyone else except lala's doesn't matter.
Ajay Bahl and Co will merge with CAM - Cyril Ajay Mangaldas
All will be well between Zia and Cyril since she filled his Delhi void and he filled the Shuva void
Now Kian don't censor!
This is the only play left in the market
And Zia's view of being a lean mean fighting machine
Wachtell Lipton style
Batting line up STILL includes:-
Cyril Shroff
L Viswanathan
Reeba Chachko
Yash Ashar
Nisha Uberoi
Nivedita Rao
VP Singh
Arjun Lall
Santosh Janakiram
Gurpreet Vazir
Gaurav Gupte
Rashmi Pradeep
Ipsita Dutta
Indranil
Amey Pathak
Plus a solid second rung:
Tushar Mavani
Ravi Kumar
Ashish Jejurkar
Namrata Kolar
Shishir Vayttaden
Vandana Sekhri
Smruti Shah
Nikhil Naredi
Shaneen Parekh
Dorothy Thomas
Time to calm down? Cyril needs to reflect and fix some internal processes. Given his stature as a visionary he is clearly going to react very quickly and stop any further exits. And all these are not from Delhi so if Delhi was fixed CAM would be ruling the #1 position.

So, since we try to avoid personal comments unless they're pertinent, had to put a stop to it unfortunately since in my experience it could have quickly spiralled into a free for all mud-slinging match...
