International Jutice Mission (IJM), helps protect the poor from violence. It works on two forms of human trafficking: Bonded Labour and Commercial Sexual Exploitation (sex trafficking) of minors.

IJM India adopts a holistic approach to justice. They work directly and collaboratively with the government at the state and national levels to pursue individual cases of violence, restore survivors, and make offenders accountable for their crime. They also empower vulnerable community members through awareness building programmes. Through these initiatives, IJM has been able to identify areas that require greater dialogue and systemic change.

Designation: Advocate/Legal Trainer

Job location: Delhi

Candidates’ required post-qualification experience (PQE) level in years: 3-5 Years PQE

Practice area specialisation required: Criminal Law, Human rights (Human Trafficking) 

Salary: As per industry standards

Job description:

International Justice Mission (IJM) is seeking a professional advocate to research and write extensively on issues of procedure, evidence and substantive law, and train partners and other power actors on the Bonded Labour laws and Acts relevant to the work of IJM across the country. The position is based out of IJM Delhi Office and requires significant travel throughout India.

Candidate requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law or beyond

  • 3 to 5 years relevant work experience

  • Experience in providing legal representation to victims in criminal trials and assisting prosecution would be preferred

  • Training experience would also be preferred

  • Excellent legal research and writing skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite Software, Windows 2000 and Windows XP

  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English, Tamil and Hindi; Knowledge of Malayalam and Telugu will be an advantage
