Former GE Power South Asia general counsel (GC) Manjaree Chowdhary joined Maruti Suzuki India as a GC this month, according to her Linked-in profile.

A Panjab University 1994 alumnus, Chowdhary holds a 1996 LLM from the University of London and was previously GC at GE Capital International Services, SABIC and General Electric Healthcare between May 2001 and February 2016 when she joined GE Power.

At GE Power the role of GC was created especially for Chowdhary, to head a team of 15 lawyers providing legal support to the $2 B + GE Power business in South Asia pursuant to the acquisition of Alstom by GE, according to Chowdhary’s Linkedin profile.

Japanese car maker Maruti's India unit is the pioneer in India's personal transport industry and its top selling models also dominate the Indian market, as reported by the ET.
