Citi Hong Kong’s Padmaja Chakravarty to succeed Pramod Rao as Mumbai GC

Citi Hong Kong-based legal head of capital markets origination, Padmaja Chakravarty, will be general counsel (GC) of Citi India following the departure of Pramod Rao back to ICICI Bank, reported Bar & Bench.

She is a 2004 NLSIU Bangalore graduate, and has worked at Citi since 2012, following time at Linklaters and Sullivan & Cromwell in London.

Rao is will return to ICICI Group, where he will be group GC, by mid-August.

wonder how much does Citi pay to its inhouse - is it on par with law firms? I have dealt with few, and they appear to be a smart bunch.
