TT&A, Platinum in CCI for Sanofi, Boehringer

Vinod Dhall in collaboration with Talwar Thakore & Associates (TT&A) advised French drugmaker Sanofi on getting Competition Commission of India (CCI) approval for its $25bn asset swap deal with Germany-based Boehringer Ingelheim which was advised by Platinum Partners.

TTA competition head Vinod Dhall and associates Sonam Mathur, Avinash Amarnath and Mansi Tewari acted for Sanofi.

Platinum Delhi partner Gaurav Desai, and associates Vijay Chauhan and Divya Mehra acted for Boehringer.

“The approval by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) is part of the local regulatory clearances required for the global asset swap between the two companies announced in June,” reported Mint.

Misspelling a name doesn't imply an inability to spell in English.

Smaller law firms such as Platinum and TTA don't have the time to market as much as larger firms do. Both are great firms who are growing very slowly. Acquisitions include a Wadia partner in Bangalore for Platinum and Dhall in Delhi for TTA.

It will be interesting to see how firms such as these do compared to larger firms such as Khaitan, SCAM and AZB over the next 5 years. If the market remains as it is.

Inasmuch as I would want to reiterate what you have said, I still believe that if not conscious advertisement, deals by these firms should nonetheless be reported. TTA is a great workplace, has some fantastic set of lawyers and do mainly foreign clientele related work. Platinum also is doing very well. I think its time we stop eulogising Big firms. most of them have very skewed work cultures. They are overstaffed.

TTA is by far the most difficult firm to get into, the best firm to work at and one of the most rewarding firm.
