Reliance had denounced the 588-page Gas Wars book as a pamphlet in its April defamation claim, launched in parallel to a legal notice by RIL promoter Mukesh Ambani’s brother Anil Ambani, who were respectively advised by Khaitan & Co and Mulla & Mulla [follow link for notices].
RIL’s glossy virtual coffee table book with large pictures of the company’s drilling operations, pithy text and chapter headlines such as “failed basin is now a flame of hope” and “the one dollar myth”, claims that exploring for oil and gas is complex and a “risky business” rather than a licence for the company to make “windfall” profits, as its detractors allege.

Last financial year, Reliance Industries Limited saw several false allegations, outright lies and half-truths against its Oil and Gas Exploration and Production business.
We addressed all of the allegations from these ill-informed campaigns with the truth and facts pro-actively. We have put out on social media platforms the facts for everyone to see.
