Delhi-based firm Priti Suri & Associates has moved into a new office that is more than twice its previous size, which is the first step in its plans to evolve out of a sole proprietorship model.
Sole partner Priti Suri (pictured centre) said she viewed the move as part of a larger agenda to expand her law practice and bring about constitutional changes within the firm by inducting new partners.
She told Legally India that the new 2,800 sq ft office had the capacity to accommodate 35 lawyers.
The firm is currently 13 lawyers in size, she explained, but would need to grow to at least 35 lawyers and more partners, which she hoped would happen soon.
The new office is located on the 14th floor of Delhi's Barakhamba Road, overlooking the Connaught Place skyline and the Supreme Court. Its previous office was close-by on Hailey Road.
Suri said: "I refused to move out of the Connaught Place area, even at the cost of commuting greater distance to meet clients based out commercial hubs of Gurgaon and Noida."
Priti Suri Associates’s head of dispute resolution Naresh Sahai Mathur (pictured back left) noted: "Being in our current location is an advantage; we are in the center and within reach of all courts and most forums. We love it here."
On 6 October the firm held a joint seminar with the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce on Making Successful Cross-Border Commercial Transactions.
In February of this year the firm organised a conference called, Women Lawyers in India: Encouraging Success and Maintaining Balance.
