Former Khaitan & Co Bangalore partner Abhilekh Verma, whom we had reported as leaving in July, is joining Kochhar & Co as a senior partner according to a press release from the firm.

He will be joining Kochhar’s national corporate commercial practice.

Chairman Rohit Kochhar commented in the release: “A lawyer with very impressive credentials and a truly endearing personality. Abhilekh will also add fillip to Kochhar & Co.’s M&A and transactional practice.

“I look forward to a long and mutually rewarding relationship with him.”

Khaitan had commented in July: “Abhilekh has been with the Firm since 2011 and contributed immensely to the growth of our Bangalore office. We wish him all the very best in his future endeavours.”

The 1995 CLC Delhi graduate Verma had joined Khaitan Bangalore in 2011 from PAV Law Offices, which he had founded.
