About International Association of Law Schools
Established in the year 2000, the International Association of Law Schools is a private, non-political, non-profit, volunteer, cooperative society working towards the betterment of the global legal education community. Over 160 law schools from all over the world are connected with the IALS for improving legal education.
The Annual meetings of the IALS are held once a year with a different theme being selected each year. These are attended by students and law professionals from all around the world. Through the meetings, various study groups and law experts around the world are able to collaborate towards improving and setting standards for world-wide legal education.

Global Law Deans' Forum 2017:
Theme: Continuation of IALS exploration of the principles and specific strategies on improving legal education globally.
The conference will take place on the 8th and 9th of November, 2017, and will be attended by deans, law experts, and legal luminaries. The chief objective of this forum is to discuss the principles and procedures for improving legal education globally. It also aims to introduce judicial standards for improving the quality of legal education.
Symbiosis Law school welcomes all law professionals, experts and students to ‘2017 Global Law Deans' Forum and 2017 Annual Meeting’ which is to be held from the 8th November 2017 to the 11th of November, 2017 at SLS, Pune. The forum symbolizes the link between all law systems around the world.
2017 Annual Meetings:
Theme: Innovative Pedagogy, Harmonized Curriculum and Global Networking for Implementing Change
Following the Deans’ Meet, this prestigious Annual Meeting will be graced by the presence of noted law experts, faculty members, administrative staff, and students. The members are expected to address different topics such as the creation of sample syllabi, finding effective approaches to teaching, etc. Different study groups will also be displaying their works corresponding to their respective syllabi.
All delegates would be given a traditional Indian reception at this event. Their meetings, discussions and plenary sessions will be supplemented and enhanced with the help of exquisite lunches and dinners. A cultural tour of Pune and historical walk are added attraction. A Law Carnival will also be arranged for the enjoyment of the attendees. The Carnival will feature cultural programs, film screenings, pottery sessions and games along with many other interactive activities.
On 8th November 2017 as a part of Chancellor’s reception, the event will also host the rare component of Guruvandana (saluting teachers), by conferring Lifetime Achievement Award for contribution to legal and justice education.
