BMR Advisors corporate tax practice to be absorbed by Deloitte, M&A may soon fold into KPMG

BMR Legal's best friend consultancy BMR Advisors will lose its corporate tax practice to Deloitte, and its M&A practice most likely to KPMG, reported Business Standard.

The tax practice will merge with Deloitte following intense negotiations over the last two to three weeks with various other firms including KPMG and PwC. This is the second round of such negotiations, the first being an unsuccessful round a few years ago in which BMR Advisors was close to selling off the entire firm to KPMG, according to Business Standard.

Both BMR Legal and BMR Advisors were founded by lawyer and accountant Mukesh Butani in 2004, who in April 2017 became the only partner to stay back in BMR Legal after a mass exodus of partners to Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas.
