The Bar Council of India (BCI) has announced today on the the official All India Bar Exam (AIBE) website that candidates can get their answer sheets rechecked for a Rs 200 fee until 26 March.

Candidates who sat the sixth AIBE, for which results were announced last week, may opt to either request the BCI to recheck their answer sheets or do so themselves in person.

The notice, stating that candidates would “under no circumstances” be given a copy of the answer sheet, did not specify the venue where candidates could inspect their answer sheets.

No format for applying for rechecking was linked to from the website at the time of going to press.

Update 1643: The request form has now been published.

In the fourth AIBE, 470 candidates who were initially notified that they had passed, were eventually failed for “technical reasons”.

Since 2012, the BCI has stopped publicly disclosing the pass rates of any AIBEs. In the third AIBE in January 2012, 37 per cent of candidates had failed out of nearly 25,000.
