This is a short post introducing Legally India Topical or LIT, for short: the rebirth of LI’s venerable forums into a much more modern avatar 💎.
Click on over to legallyindia.com/topical to browse some topics of discussion and participate.
What it’s for
- Sharing news and snippets of interest to the very special niche that is the delightful LI reader community of legal professionals,
- The inclusive and free-wheeling discourse of ideas and learning, and
- Shelter from the storm: since LIT is partly moderated, we intend for it to be a place you can unwind from any day-to-day stresses or the toxicity of social media, and express yourself without fear of judgment. Please be kind and respectful to others.
How it works
Just like the Legally India main site, LIT recognises the role anonymity plays in open and frank discussion. Therefore, anyone can participate. Just create an account on LIT with a valid email address, or you can instantly log in with your existing Legally India account and password.
Once logged in you can:
- skip the queue: post under your username to skip the moderation queue and your post will be live instantly. You can also edit your posts post publication, follow interesting discussions for alerts and much more.
- post in complete confidence: choose to post as the @AnonymousLLB user. As the name implies, such postings are completely anonymous but they will be subject to moderation. Even we at LI don’t know and can’t find out who has posted as @AnonymousLLB, because none of your user information or email is associated with such posts.
If you have any queries or suggestions, please do not hesitate to post a comment below on the LI site for feedback or queries, or why not start a new discussion over on LIT?
I and a few moderators will be lurking and participating in the discussions; sometimes also anonymously 🕵️.

In any case, we're not boycotting the LiveLaw BCI story - we have tweeted our support I believe and BCI Fan is on the job to write about this, hopefully soon. Nor is there really any rivalry: I personally think LiveLaw is doing a great job and I wish them only well.
