Verus Advocates founding partner and advocate Krishnayan Sen and independent Mumbai-based advocate Sushma Nagaraj have come up with a 32-question quiz to provide some welcome distraction from webinars and other trappings of the locked-down-lawyer life.

“Sushma and I kept quizzing each other during the lockdown and had so much fun doing that, that we compiled the questions for lawyer friends and students to see if they can take a crack at it,” said Sen. “It also came as a refreshing break from the deluge of webinars and podcasts.”

However, be warned, you will probably need to be a hardcore legal trivia buff to score well on this (or maybe just some lateral thinking and general historical knowledge might suffice).

For the hard core, apparently questions 24 and 31 were the most difficult, said Sen.

Around 150 people have attempted the quiz so far, Sen told us today. “We were delighted to see the lovely response from fellow lawyers and even students.

“The quiz was moderately tough, it’s definitely something one should try. We are sure one will have fun and might wonder how easy it was when you see the answers at the end of the quiz.

“Most questions can be worked out from the clues. If a quizzer gets about 50% of the questions right, it’s definitely something!

“Bon chance.”

That said, two senior counsel - Raju Ramachandran and Sanjay Hegde - turned out to be amongst the top scorers. Apparently, they both “got most of them correct, which was truly incredible”, though “they were the exceptions”, according to Sen.
