Khaitan powers Indo-Japan courier JV

Khaitan & Co partners Rajat Mukherjee, Daksha Baxi and Manas Kumar Chaudhari advised Japanese airfreight forwarding and logistics company Kintetsu World Express (KWE) in its Rs 270 crore ($54m) purchase of 30 per cent stake in a joint venture with Indian supply chain solutions provider Gati which was advised by LVV Iyer & Associates.

The joint venture will merge the express distribution supply chain businesses of KWE and Gati through a business transfer agreement, as well as invest in Gati’s expertise in high-end third party logistics facilities to develop temperature controlled warehouses.

Rajat Mukherjee is a corporate partner in the delhi office. Manas is the competition law partner also based in Delhi. Daksha is a tax partner and is based on Mumbai.
