Khaitan & Co advised Japanese tomato processor Kagome which formed a joint venture (JV) with India’s largest edible oil maker Ruchi Soya and one of Japan’s four largest conglomerates Mitsui & Co.

Ruchi Soya was advised by DSK Legal and Mitsui was advised by Trilegal.

Khaitan & Co Mumbai partner Vaishali Sharma acted for Kagome. Kagome will own 40 per cent stake in the JV Ruchi Kagome, reported the Times of India,

DSK Legal Mumbai partner Ajay Shaw acted for 40 per cent JV partner Ruchi Soya which will set up a Rs 44 crore tomato processing plant in Maharashtra, according to Money Control.

Trilegal Delhi partner Charandeep Kaur acted for Mitsui. Mitsui will hold the remaining stake in the JV.

India is the world’s second largest tomato producer yet one of the major importers of processed tomato products, reported the Business Standard.

"the" only M&A lawyers in Khaitan are Rabindra, Hygreve and Bharat Anand. Vaishali is good but not in that league!
