Khaitan acts on India comp leg of Honda-Hitachi JV for leadership in automobile segment (Oct ‘19)

Fairtrade regulator on Tuesday said it has approved a combination proposal filed jointly by Keihin Corporation, Nissin Kogyo Co. Ltd., Showa Corporation and Hitachi Automotive Systems Ltd to form a joint venture between Honda Motor Co Ltd (HAMCL) and Hitachi Ltd.

The transaction saw the amalgamation of Keihin Corporation, Nissin Kogyo, and SHOWA Corporation into Hitachi Automotive Systems and the creation of a joint venture between Hitachi and Honda Motor Corp. The JV envisages of being a global mega-supplier of automobile and motorcycle systems with a consolidated revenue scale of 1.7 trillion.
