JSA, Khaitan, SAM act on Mercer’s buy of Gurgaon assessment tech provider Mettl

“Global consulting firm Mercer, a subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc., has acquired online assessment platform Mettl for an undisclosed amount, the Gurugram-based company said in a statement on Monday,” reported Mint.

J Sagar Associates (JSA) advised Mercer Consulting India, with a transaction team comprised of joint managing partner Shivpriya Nanda, partner Daksh Ahluwalia, and associates Adhiraj Gupta and Priyanka Murali. Employment-related aspects were handled by partner Minu Dwivedi and associate Tanisha Bhatia, while open-source software issues were dealt with by principal associate Zain Pandit and associate Tanisha Bhatia, including use of derivative and modified source code and use of Aadhaar e-kyc data by Mettl. Tax aspects of the deal were advised on by partner Kumarmangalam Vijay.

Khaitan & Co advised the existing, selling investors Kalaari Capital and Blume Ventures, led by Mumbai partner Vineet Shingal.

Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas partner Amit Khansaheb advised the selling founders.

According to JSA’s release, Induslynk Training Services Private Limited operates under the brand name Mettl, and was established in 2010. It has been a fast-growing talent assessment provider, having built a scaleable proprietary technology platform.

It's actually Gurugram, Gurgaon District. So, repeat after me, Guest: I will try to not be an insufferable asshole in the future.

@kian, a person can invoke so much hatred only against his/ her boss. I think the comment might have been posted by someone in your team whose Diwali leaves have been rejected :):)

Such erudition and articulation on the most “cerebral” aspect of the deal. This “guroor” must meet Tharoor in Jaipur!

Nice to see Khaitan on a number of deals. This is a big value deal. All the best. One of the rare firms with good deals and a nice working culture.

First time I have seen KCO not put the names of the other team members and just the Partner. Has only the Partner worked on this?

It seems the deal release has been done by JSA, which is why the names of other lawyers for both SAM and Khaitan are not mentioned.
