San Jose-based Apple Inc supplier and leading developer of human interface solutions, Synaptics has completed the acquisition of Santa Clara-based chip maker Marvell Technology Group’s multimedia solutions business through an all cash deal value of approximately $95m, as reported last year by GlobeNewsWire and Markets Insider. The acquisition was a part of a mega $438m deal in which Synaptics also acquired Irvine-based voice and audio processing software company Conexant Systems for about $343m through a mix of cash and stock.

J Sagar Associates (JSA) acted as the Indian legal advisors to the Marvell Technology Group in the transaction and was represented by partner Probir Roy Chowdhury along with principal associate Vishnu Nair.

As per the press release by Synaptics, the acquisitions are a part of their long term strategy to extend its human interface leadership into the consumer IoT era and it is expected that the combination of both the organizations having strong technology and market positions, will immediately jumpstart its presence in the smart home market.
