DMD, Srivatsan act for Japan’s MonotaRO on $15m investment in Emtex Indian e-commerce JV

MonotaRO Co Ltd, Japan’s largest MRO B2B ecommerce company, on Friday said it has invested $15 million (about Rs 110.5 crore) in a joint venture with Emtex Engineering to grow the latter’s SME (small and medium enterprises) ecommerce business in India.


DMD Advocates advised MonotaRO Co Ltd (a company incorporated under the laws of Japan);; led by a team of partners Sumit Sinha and Sachit Jolly along with senior associate Ashima Dewan and senior associate Srikant C V. The due diligence team comprised of partner Sumit Sinha, senior associate Ashima Dewan, senior associate Saiyam Chaturvedi, associate Tanay Shah and associate Shagun Sharda.

Nishimura & Asahi of Japan acted for MonotaRo led by partner Taeko Suzuki along with lawyer Isha Shah.

Law Offices of Madhavan Srivatsan advised Emtex, its partner Madhavan Srivatsan with lawyers Ravi Kapoor and Khizer Qureshi.
