CAM for Amazon Pay in $40m acquisition of JMP client Tapzo

“Amazon Pay has acquired personal assistant platform Tapzo, its first such deal in India, in a bid to build on and widen the scope of its payment offering. The part-stock and part-cash deal is valued at $40-45 million and will see Tapzo’s investors exit with a cash payout, according to two people aware of the deal,” reported The Economic Times.

Jerome Merchant + Partners advised Tapzo led by a team of partner Vishnu Jerome and associate Ravishankar M.

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas advised Amazon Pay and was led by partner Arun Prabhu.

Themis Associates advised the exiting investor Sequoia, led by a team including partner Archan Chakraborty and principal associate Vijay Santosh.
