AZB acts for Brookfield on buy of two Axis Wind Farms for $72m

Canada’s Brookfield Asset Management Inc is set to acquire two wind farms from Hyderabad-based Axis Energy Ventures for Rs 500 crore, two people aware of the development told ET. This would be Brookfield’s first direct acquisition in the renewable energy space in India.

AZB & Partners advised Brookfield Asset Management led by a team of senior partner Anil Kasturi, partners Nandita Govind and Siddharth Khanna, and associates Shreya Basu, Anshuman Singh, Paulose Abraham, Priyanka Hazarika, Urmika Tripathi, Karan Mehra and Diksha Singh.
