While hiring numbers in general are on the lower side this year, I would wait and watch till Day 0 happens (usually in the second half of the year for most colleges) to assess the final number of PPOs and comment on the same.

LAWYERS BEWARE!

1. Delhi Bar isn't as united as it was. I have very strong resentments with the current leadership, but that's separate from this issue. Anyway, look at how the decision was taken to make Saturdays working. It was only after several months that the Bar called for a strike on Saturdays.

2. Come speak to the members of the Delhi Bar to know how they really feel, and how things really here are and how most of us feel about each of the judges.

3. The current president of the Bar has represented Kejriwal previously on multiple occasions. I do not think it would be appropriate for him to make any such comments - it would appear very improper. My resentments with the Prez. are about his inability to take a stand/lack of a spine. Even then, I do find him to be a man of integrity. I do not think he would want to muddy his reputation by making any political comments.

4. Kejriwal actually was not "questioning the probity of" the judge. He said there is apprehension of bias, especially given that similar findings against him have been given in the previous cases (including Kejru's WP challenging his arrest. Apprehension of bias is not the same as questioning someone's 'probity'.

4.a. Especially when his first ground was that detailed findings were given in previous judgments saying offence was prima facie made out + on the first date it was said that impugned order is prima facie wrong. Charge/discharge anyway has to be determined at a prima facie standard - so that finding already stands given. (Sidenote: yes, yes. Technically standard of charge/discharge is "grave suspicion" - Dilawar Kurane, Sajjan Singh et al - but that's being pedantic).

Anyway, no point commenting on merits/demerits of the recusal application itself. But worthwhile to point out that seeking recusal is not automatically the same as casting aspersions on a judge.

OP here. Forgot to add the information here. I have a decent CV with Tier 1 and Tier 2 internship experiences., including callbacks and an assessment. Few paper presentations and publications.

My thought of doing a reputed foreign LLB, is for two reasons. The first one is a job at Magic Circle or Silver Circle law firms. The second one is self esteem needs (sometimes I tend to have thoughts that I have never experienced an excellent pedagogy in my college and that has made me a mediocre person. And that only an LLB at a world famous University can change me)

First, there are no jobs in the legal profession - what you are talking about, is sitting desk work at a place called law firm where you don't do real work. Now, the issue that haw cropped up is, they don't need people. Else they'd give ppos. They dont have vacancies? Why so? Why no vafancy? Because these desk jobs are clerical and can be done by someone who does not even know law. Here, ai is doing so. If you really want to work, and do real work and make some contribution to society, whether in the so called traditionalist way by defending peoples rights or maybe doing IP disputes, get into litigation - comss with far more respect,far more money, and no such issues

I have been in the same boat during my final year of law school. When you constantly see your friends getting placed, receiving offers, and moving ahead with their careers, it is natural to feel left behind. Slowly, that pressure starts affecting your confidence. You begin to feel demotivated, compare your journey with others, and start doubting your own abilities. You question whether you are good enough, whether you missed your chance, and whether things will ever work out for you. But the truth is, everyone’s journey moves at a different pace. Placement season can make it seem like life is a race, but it is not. Some people get opportunities early, some get them later, and many build great careers after a slow start. One phase does not define your future. Final year feels intense because everything seems urgent, but a few months or even a year later, things can look completely different.

Keep working on yourself, keep applying, keep learning, and do not let temporary delays make you believe permanent lies about yourself.

Well the issue is since we live in a civilized country, we have civil rights, and some of those rights are specific to certain groups basis biological realities. For instance, women have the right to their separate spaces, including bathrooms, locker rooms, sports leagues, prisons, etc. Hence if someone who has the appearance of a male, has all the biological attributes of a male (muscle mass, bone density, etc) and the sexual characteristics of a male, claims that he is actually a woman because he "feels" like one, and demands access to segregated spaces for women, there has to be some scientific justification for the same other than "mind your business". This is especially relevant in a poor country like ours, since while the privileged few can virtue signal from their ivory towers, the vast majority share public spaces. Biology is an objective truth, not a subjective interpretation. The "psychological" challenges, is simply gender dysphoria, which merits treatment, ▮▮▮. Social "science" is not science, but merely opinions, since they're not universal, hope you're educated enough to understand this. @LI moderators, for once don't be overwhelmed by your woke sensitivities, and in the interest of fairness, do publish this.

You're going to get top faculty, perhaps the best in the country, and the latest pedagogy. There is going to be the most academic pressure because of that very pedagogy and expectations, together with the trimester system. Student teacher ratio is low because of high intake, but improves too because of regular faculty recruitment. Campus facilities are getting to be more cramped and some crumbling infra, plus lots of construction fallout. Placement-wise, opportunities are going to reduce for all law schools, and the huge batch size here does not help, but the quality of the peers is also high.

It’s the same story with every trade agreement and every country. We import far more than what we export. When negotiations come up, we ask for visas for Indian workers: engineers, doctors, nurses and blue collar workers (depending on the country in question).

It looks like we do import some amount of generic drugs and textiles, but that’s really it.

god only knows man. Word in town is that fresher roles are going to be obsolete, most of it is getting automated, firms are not keen on hiring freshers yada yada. I hope day z fills the numbers. But in the past when day z numbers were good, there were an equally high number of ppos. It seems like the hiring cycle is running quite delayed or that we are, well, fucked

That being said, if you have a stellar profile to beat the odds in a gloomy job market, and are confident that you would be able to land up with a job with similar pay as the one that you have in hand right now, maybe you could gamble. Depends on how confident you are about that, and how badly you need the job. Else, wouldn't recommend being too greedy. Peace of mind has its worth.

It's just a market with not as much demand. It happens every other year atp. Bo24 had great numbers, Bo25 had shit, Bo26 was much better. It'll go on like that. Nothing any of us can do about it. Will speaking up of this net you more jobs? Why would a firm hire if it has no need? Why should they give a shit?

And it's attributable to economics. Supply and demand. Plain and simple. Supply is increasing every year. Numbers used to be more concentrated in the top 5, now they're being spread out. Every single job given to someone from a pvt law school is a job that would've otherwise contributed to the concentration.

I have given you 2 reasons, but there would be more. You can rationalise the market, you can't defeat the market.

Well science for one is not limited to physical but also psychological and social. But honestly, when dealing with such matters I have a simple justification. Sometimes we just gotta mind our own business. If someone is hurting because of something and they are fighting for something I can’t understand, doesn’t mean I am right and they are wrong. There are a lot of people who want to join SAM Blr even though they are not the highest paymasters among T1 firms? Why is this? I hear that SAM Blr Gen corp teams are sitting on a whole bunch of CVs from other firms but they are very careful in hiring as they want a correct team fit. Any idea if this is true and whether they are looking to hire A3/SA1 level lawyers?

Still a law student at one of the NLUs, so I can only suggest things based on my limited understanding.

You can try clearing JRF and starting a PhD. There are opportunities to work as a Research Associate at many NLUs, where the initial pay is around 50–60K, and it can eventually convert into an Assistant Professor role.

Also, focus on publications and conferences.

I know these suggestions may not be entirely relevant, but please don’t get demotivated by the comments people make on this platform. Many will repeatedly tell you that being a non-NLU student makes things impossible but don’t worry, your time will come. Please don’t lose hope.

We have many professors at our NLU who are from non-NLU backgrounds and do not have strong connections. Maybe I cannot fully guide you on what exactly to do, but I can confidently say that it is possible.

Don’t judge yourself based on what these privileged people, sitting in their AC chambers, say to you on LI.

You can also try for SC Law Clerkship and other such exams like, IBPS Law Officer etc, as you said you cracked NET. These exams are very much doable to you. Try giving SEBI as well.

It's much more powerful and profitable than corporate. Majority of youth is so fixated on being a corporate slave that they have no idea how strong litigation roles are, especially in India. You just need to be aware of how to use your position, connections, power and finances well.

The judges are a nepotistic cabal of generational privilege. Most of these judges are judges due to the family they are born into. He has every right to question the integrity of the said judge, if she is openly attending rss functions and her children are receiving pecuniary benefits from one of the parties to the litigation, I.e., the government, especially after it has been proven that the charges against him were politically motivated. It's high time someone holds these unqualified nepotistic judges accountable.

These comments are useful, but the implications for what to do if you are blind and have to make this choice haven't been discussed all that much here. Following small points are based on the feedback a computer science engineering student (who is blind, like me) gave me:

1. As mentioned, Word is better on Windows.

2. Keyboard shortcuts change completely, and not all of them work as smoothly for the blind as on Windows, especially as the text to speech (screen reader) being used changes.

3. A blind Windows user would have to go through a long and often painful transition process to get used to a macOS.

4. Important: WhatsApp Web/Desktop, and these are my friend's words, not mine, is "totally jank" on mac. This is important as some blind people (like me) find it harder to type at reasonable speed on phone compared to laptop. Because of this, WhatsApp is already hard enough to use. Do you want the headache to increase?

Would really appreciate any honest insights on the work culture, A0 pay for 2026, and overall experience, and also whether you’d recommend applying for assessment (BO2026), especially since I’m interested in TMT.

If you do not have anything in your CV that stands out, such as good peer reviewed or SCOPUS publications or conferences, or industry experience, nor is your degree from a well-known university, then it is difficult to secure such a position that will pay decently. You can try to work at coaching centres for law entrance, judiciary etc. which will fetch more money than what you have been offered so far. Otherwise, try for JRF or some research project fellowship that get advertised on different fora. Once you finish your PhD, better offers may come.

It's beyond words what is happening among lawyers of the highest court of the country. Today an AoR, Vivya Nagpal, candidate for upcoming SCAORA* elections, came up to me in Supreme Court corridor, and said "North mein North ke log hi aane chahiye" (Translation: in North India, only North Indians should come to power).

This is the state of the legal community at the very court which is supposed to adjudicate disputes from all corners of India. Even the SC benches have so many judges from non-North/Hindi Belt. But the lawyers still think like this. Abominable.

Hi everyone. Firstly I will tell my background so that you can assess from where I am speaking from.I am from a Non NLU and will graduate this year. My University follows a weird grading system and on top of that my grades are lower than average there too (Around barely 7 CGPA adjusting for NLU grading system).

My 12th grade CBSE grades are great however, and when I checked the equivalent requirements for various UK universities, it seems alright.

So I wanted to know, is it a good choice for me to do a 3 year LLB in UK, from a world famous university like Oxford, LSE, etc. Are there scholarships which I can avail and if so then how can I get that? Does it make sense to do it? Should I get an LOR from my school or my college?

What is happening? Why are there no jobs for everyone? Why is the combined PPO count of top 5 universities not crossing the number 50?

How is no one speaking of this and why does no one care? Various firms mentioned that they'll move from a Day Zero hiring process towards a PPO model - did they give up on that? Will Day Zero hirings shoot up because of such little pre-day zero job offers?

It is genuinely driving me insane and no one gives a shit. What is this attributable to? It cannot be AI, we are not quite there yet.

Know of a people being kept in the dark by Khaitan, three by Trilegal (no response after interview), one rejected in CAM PPO interview. And all of these people are bright by all reasonable metrics. Something doesn't seem right and I'm not sure what it is. Or they are all just planning on hiring at Day Zero, which I hope is the case.
