Secondly, I can’t reason with clout chasers. omega btw is not Tier 1. AP, Patek, and Arnold and sons are real T1 watches. Get a grip friend.
I think it’s pointless to argue this. I don’t think we decide peoples current day rights based on history. But I mentioned it because “ occupation “ and “ settler colonialism “ arguments are nonsense .
The state of Israel is a Jewish homeland because Jews the world over are hunted because of their ethnic religious identity. Where do you propose they go if you are for a “ from the river to the sea “ person ? The state exists - the state has existed for seventy years - it’s crazy to keep litigating this. It does not lead to anyone being better off.
In 2005 israel dismantled settlements in the Gaza Strip and left - that’s 18 years ago now. I know Palestinians live terrible lives - any place where children die by the thousands every year has to be hell on earth- so let me ask again - what has the gazan goverment - Hamas which was elected there - done to improve this ? Hamas’s budget year on year is nearly 500 million by some estimates - is that money going to rockets ? Or food and water and schools and hospitals ?
Is Hamas contributing at all to the betterment of Palestinians ? Or is it simply building its bases underneath their hospitals and constantly provoking conflict? Hamas rejects the two state solution - it wants a one state solution and it wants to kill Jews. Look up the Hamas charter - Ctrl F for “Jews” and then tell me they’re resistance fighters,
There’s plenty in my post that are also left wing talking points . Right wingers don’t usually criticise Netanyahu or think through the geopolitics of that situation or cite Thomas Friedman.
I have friends with parents in Israel right now. One doesn’t need a personal connection however to have a valid opinion. I refuse to use my friends as props in internet arguments.
Everyone from Judith butler to Paul bloom to Black Lives Matter have pointed out the limitations of empathy. Educate yourself. Just because you feel bad and watch videos after videos of atrocities and weep for people all around the world doesn’t make you a moral person. A moral person actually does work to be useful rather than simply virtue signalling.
even head of the world can be taken down by public opinion,
All I'm saying is that it's hardly surprising that Milei would oppose socialism. It is the very core of his philosophy.

I request you all to please help me by providing suggestions. I really need help and guidance and if you can throw some light into my situation, it would be very very helpful.
I am 2023 batch graduate from not known private college. I’ve done few good internships in M&A/GC teams where I learned basic drafting and DD exercises. I am currently not hired anywhere. I am applying to firms and getting rejections but I really need to make money due to financial struggles as it’s been 3 months since I graduate. I am thinking to approach startups/angel investors for DD or policy drafting kind of work through LinkedIn until I get a job.
Please give me your guidance and let me know if my approach is correct or if you can give any other suggestions. I would be forever grateful to you all.
Thank you very much.
FIXES PROMISED, PROBLEMS PERSIST
1. The water we're supposed to drink is a hot mess — muddy, sometimes with this white gunk, and occasionally stinking. The RO system been busted since uni opened after COVID.
2. Power cuts are a regular thing. Just yesterday, we had hours without any juice.
3. orkers ain't getting the fair deal.
4. Women's hostel has been bone-dry for two days straight. No water for washing, using the bathroom, or even basic hygiene. And when there is water, the pipes act up, especially nasty at 8 am before classes.
4. Washing machines conked out, so we're handwashing clothed during projects and midterms.
5. Drains all clogged, open bins everywhere.
6. Too many pests indoors – rats, bats, mosquitoes, you name it.
7. Bathrooms and toilets barely ever getting a real clean-up. Those yellow tiles they're all nasty with black mold, making it seriously gross.
8. Wifi been cut off. Speed less than 1mbps. And there's no excuse for that. We've been paying for this service, and it's totally not right to leave us hanging without.
9. Stupid admin won't open the balcony or terrace at night, haven't given us a reason why. Nights are the only time we can actually breathe, but these hostels aren't exactly well-aired or smelling like roses. We feel all boxed in and just plain suffocating at night.
10. Basically, the whole plumbing and electrical setup—shower, faucets, sinks, fans, bulbs—everything's busted and they've left it that way for way too long without fixing a thing.
11. As for action, the admin straight-up public shamed the plumber and electrician with a public show cause notice, something they'd never pull on any other "higher" staff here. But truth is, these folks need some oversight and the right supplies to get the job done. Public shaming workers. Imagine.
12. Man, they won't let students switch rooms during the year now. Back in the old days, we just had to hang tight until the first of the next month and could make a change. Dealing with bad roommates be causing emotional hell for so many of us. Look like them will only learn when some thing unexpected between hostile peeps happens. Stupidest rule on here.
13. There ain't no real good doc or proper meds for emergencies. They just hand out Dolo 650. Getting sick at night is a nightmare. Too many been falling sick lately.
It's living hell here.
And for those who ain't catching on, I'm not saying the old administration was any better, okay?
Thoughts?
Who were other candidates in the row?
Vindicated. Thank you @sardesairajdeep

Every sane person knows that all of these awards are bought and paid for. When CAM wins Innovative Firm of the year, we laugh, knowing the only innovative thing they have done is find new ways to increase official working days and pressurise employees. When Trilegal wins Best in Corporate/ Commercial law, we laugh, knowing they have the worst researched and presented legal opinions and shoddy deliverables that will probably worsen the probability of closing the deal for their client.
Law firm awards are as real as a decent WLB in a law firm. And as real as the chance of an NLIU batch getting more than 40% placement. I laugh thinking they even considered themselves to be competition to NLUJ, around 6-7 years back but now they keep getting washed out.
This isn't just me but a bunch of people who wanted some advice on hiring levels

Best of luck finding this info reliably. I’ve given up.
" In 2013, she went to the French business school INSEAD in Fontainebleau. That’s not all, Paridhi Adani also attended the traditional finishing school Institut Villa Pierrefeu in Montreux, Switzerland."
Interesting that she attended INSEAD and not an LLM course. It shows that the Shroffs value a B-school education more and perhaps more law grads should think about it? The finishing school information is also interesting. People on LI constantly discuss the right watch to wear, right wine to drink etc. Even super-rich people like the Shroffs want their children to know these things and take them seriously. According to the website of the fishing school, they offer a course on International Etiquette (though for ladies only). https://ivpworld.com/
The topics are:
Etiquette
---------
Around the table - European etiquette
-------------------------------------
Floral Art and Table Decoration
-------------------------------
International Drinks Culture
----------------------------
Entertaining
------------
Business Etiquette
-------------------
Official and Diplomatic Protocol
---------------------------------
International Savoir-Vivre
---------------------------
Thus, this vindicates two common topics of discussion on LI. Maybe it's time lawyers (both male and female) in India attend such courses? I can see a lot of people paying big bucks for such a course.

You are a failed person
NLUJ is dying for water
I am a bit clueless about the top ranking firms and some help would be appreciated.
just because the right wing says something doesnt mean theyre wrong- even a broken clock is right twice a day.
You keep thinking empathy comes from Instagram and treat it as shallow. That's your take on humanity, it does not make it right or accurate. Most of the opinions that you espoused also comes from narrative built by media, so it is not as if you have displayed any critical insight in particular. The original post seems to have criticised loss of lives, unlike you who are treating that callously. Feeling empathy does not do go good to anyone is the kind of amoral and selfish perspective that makes an educated person the most dangerous of human beings. All you seem to be doing is spouting the pro-Israeli Right propaganda, for which there are other threads.
It did affect me and many people around me. As well as the economy. You being locked up in air conditioned ivory towers are not all the world is about. One wonders how after all that jumla about black money, chip based currency notes and the massive face loss that data backs up now, you still continue supporting such stupid moves simply because the party that you support came up with it.
Lockdown was a significantly badly implemented and executed maneuver that has broken the back of small industries and millions of wage workers, especially in the rural area. Their lives may not mean anything to you, but they contribute more to the economy than you do. Which is why the rising inequality, unemployment, demand imbalance that the economy is witnessing now.
It's funny how you Bhakts rake up history every time people question you on the present. That poppat as you mentioned was not the one in charge during any of those incidents. And though I don't support his politics either, I would take the poppat as PM over your Feku and Jumlabaz any day.
At present, 50 crores of people working 48 hours a week has led to maybe 10 people becoming wealthy and rich.
So, if those 50 crores of people start working 70 hours a week, how many people will it lead to becoming wealthy and rich?
Answer: The same 10!
Our media as usual is going to town about it. The humanitarian aspect aside (I don't support death penalty), should Indian Govt intervene in this case? I think 2 reasons they should not:
1. The 8 retd naval officers were working in Qatar in their private capacities after retirement. They were not (as far as we can tell) RAW operatives or Indian Govt undercover spies. So they voluntarily took the risk.
2. If a group of Qataris were caught in India spying for Pakistan while claiming to run a business, would Indian Govt not prosecute them in the same way?
he's hard core libertarian
Also congratulations!
168 hours in a week
minus 70 hours a week of work (10 hours a day)
minus 56 hours of sleep a week (8 hours a day)
minus 21 hours for eating and bathing a week (allocating a generous 3 hours a day for this)
= 21 hours a week of TOTALLY FREE TIME
How much more free time do people need?
Re health and stress, your body can easily take this in your 20s. After that you can slow down. Note that Murthy is referring to YOUNGSTERS.

a) Jobless growth?
b) Indian law firms lack the vision of international law firms?
c) Only reforms of the Indian legal system (speedier trials etc) will lead to job creation in law firms?
Makes it attractive for tier I colleges
Why do you guys think this is happening though?
As an A1 at a boutique, always thought they were a place I could laterally shift too.
Does not seem to be the case anymore...
When I say my parents are middle class, I don't mean some clerical government jobs - they are doctors in a non-metro town. They are financially comfortable, have their own house, and don't need me to send money home. But they are not rich that they can give me living expenses or take foreign holidays on a whim. I joined an NLU after working super hard so I don't have to live that scrimping and saving life.
Yes, it took me a year and a half to save up for my dream watch. That's because I don't live a difficult life just to save. I have peers who take public transport (or even shared cabs). I can't be coming to work at a T1 firm in some rickety Ola. I commute with a sedan cab by myself, so yes my expenses on that front are slightly higher. My cook only makes breakfast because I prefer to order lunch in, and dinner might be an outing or ordering in at least twice a week. Plus I like to splurge on holidays. I shifted to a nicer apartment complex because I wanted to stay in a happening place with similar ambitious neighbours.
I have peers who have more savings, but they don't live life to the full extent. I have nothing to apologise for. A lot of people trying to discourage seem to be highly well off, which is hypocrisy.
I work very hard, so I like to play hard. If that means an Omega that will elevate my life and status, then why not.

Year 1 partner: 1.25 crore, 70:30 split.
Year 2 partner: 1.75 crore
Year 3 partner: 1.95 crore
You can add about 25 percent markup to this for Trilegal, and 25 percent markdown for CAM. I'm told that some partners in Khaitan Bangalore are above 2.5 crores as well given Khaitan's yummy bonus.
Why are israeli jews considered occupiers when they were the original inhabitants of the land? Why is this an open air prison when hundreds of thousands of gazans come in to work in israel everyday? why is it an aparthied regime when minorities are on the knesset and the supreme court in israel? what kind of occupation is it when one party has constantly offered a two state solution but the other has rejected that two state solution and demanded palestine from the river to the sea? what does ceasefire and peace even look like within that context? are israelis just supposed to resign themselves to a life where october 7 and rocket attacks keep happening to them and not retaliate ever because "power" and "race" is that the only way peace happens? or should jews just leave the middle east? do we want a mass migration unlike anything in modern world history? they are an occupier state right- so that is what were pushing for? what kind of blockade is letting through guns and bombs and all of that but not food and water for politicians? Who is getting paid behind this mess? Missles and guns and bombs cost money- how does hamas make money? Why did netanyahu briefly covertly support hamas for his own political ends? how much blood is on his hands? we know from some accounts that hamas has a budget of something like 100-500 million- where is that money coming from and where is that money going? How are 12% of palestinian children dying because of contaminated water when thats the case? these are not rhetorical questions- what is egypt and jordan and iran and saudi arabia doing in this region? Why did the oct 7 attack happen now? it takes incredible planning to send in as many terrorists into homes and public spaces and concerts to kill, kidnap, and torture people- it takes incredible planning to do this without israeli intelligence coming to know. who coordinated all this at whose behest? how can we possibly say this is "resistance" as if theyre kashmiris throwing a rock after being tortured by the army? what kind of "decolonisation" involves rapes? How has it come to be that palestinians are held hostage by hamas for years now and nothing has been done to change that situation? Hamas won one election in 2006 and pushed its opposition off of buildings- why is that not of greater concern to the world community? when putin does that we are all indignant are we not? even if israel were to vanish into air tomorrow- what would actually lead to free palestinians? not a land that would somehow become "unoccupied"- but a people who would be able to live their lives with food in bellies, access to water and electricity and schooling and medicine and knowing that your own government will not treat your life or that of your childs as fungible? going to sleep at night knowing that someone is looking out to protect you? what would the conditions need to be for that to happen?
Get off of instagram- its making you stupid. The answers to all of these questions are there to find. Read the history of the peace accords, look at maps of what was on offer for palestine throughout history in terms of a two state solution, read thomas friedman on geopolitics. There are smart people working on all of these questions- but theyre not on twitter and instagram- theyre serious people.
Stop trying to find your own demons in this conflict as if it were a Rorschach test. this is not about black and white- a good proportion of jews in palestine are not white. This is not a racial problem- there is not a racial calculation being made about the value of life- this is about neighbors fighting each other over land and religion. This is not black lives matter. This is not the same thing as "minorities rights" in india- our minorities are law abiding civilians who do not by and large want a state of their own- they want to be in this democracy with the rest of us- at the moment of partition- they did the courageous thing of rejecting deliberately an islamic state in pakistan and chose to stay in a secular multicultural democracy - and they are not funded by a foreign power to kill murder and torture women and babies and old people. When terrorism happens in our state- muslims in india dont tell us we deserved it, that we were settler colonialists for involvement in kashmir. When muslim children are killed in state sponsored pogroms in say- some states in the north- its secular hindus and muslims who insist on reporting the truth and in prosecuting those responsible. Hindus dont treat muslim lives as fungible.
Whats happening in israel and palestine is also not settler colonialism. A bulk of the israeli jews that are in israel were already there. jews were natives of that land long before islam was even a thing. and both arabs and jews have an equal claim to the land because of negotiations with the english protectorate. its not even about land really- there have been multiple peace offers in modern history with israel offering to trade away land- good land- for peace- hamas has rejected it without counter offer several times.
Something far far more complex and corrupt is at play there and you wont understand it on instagram.
Empathy is a poor way to channel your energy- empathy is restrictive- america only empathises when victims of kidnappings are white women, brown people only feel pain and injustice when it happens to other brown people. We are hard wired by evolution to find kinships in our tribes. And even if you do feel empathy for both sides- its really just projection- you dont actually feel the pain of someone else- you cannot. You are imagining how it would feel and it makes you feel like a better person because youre so full of empathy- but it doesnt actually do any good to anyone. Youre better off trying to speak on this more thoughtfully and critically- questioning every bit of news- learning some media literacy- and trying to rationally find your way through the fog of war.

do your lit friends laugh at the salary threads as well?
demonetisation? how did it affect you sir? Standing for some hours in a line?
lockdown? so you wanted them to allow everyone to die? do you know that most law firms wouldn't implement wfo if not for lockdown, because they dont give a f? the govt cant do that huh? or are you denying covid?
Do I have to remind you what happened during emergency, war, bofor scam, the JnK corruption for decades? Or do you want that poppat as your PM?
Also "fresher" how was your exp in the last 2 years. Kind enough to guide others?
We also haven’t seen Mahua explain why Henry belongs to her. On what legal grounds?
Lastly, I grew up with two dogs during my childhood and know many dog owners. A dog always licks and barks happily when in the company of someone he loves. I don’t see that at all in the vids that Mahua and her supporters are circulating. Frankly, they are super-cringe.
"The only things I have received from Darshan as a close personal friend was one scarf for my birthday present three or four years ago, then he called from the Dubai airport asking if I wanted something. There is a brand called Bobbi Brown and he bought me a lipstick from the brand, and eye shadow," Mahua Moitra told India Today in her first interview since the cash-for-query row began.
