Personally, I'm all about farmhouse living. Last year, we rented a place in DLF Chattarpur. Let me tell you, my wife throws the best parties there, and our friends absolutely love it. Yes, the rentals there are stiffer than the Camellias but there's something therapeutic about being one with nature, that just works for me like nothing else. Also, consider Tatvam Villas - tatvam has many lawyers from the lower tier firms. But good folks nevertheless..

nls’29 here
For example, "demanding" good VC/faculty (through petitions et al) is tokenism because it goes nowhere and SJA is simply neither positioned nor equipped to enforce such demands.
I would instead ask, what leverage do the candidates already have or can create in the short-term to actually pressure the administration (both inside and outside campus) into cleaning the mess that continues to rot NUJS insidiously.
2. Not even sure if Im gonna get into the profession I might even do CA and takeover my parents firm
3. Regarding internships dad has connections so wont have problems finding internships
4. Proximity, Im form trichy
5. Didnt get into any NLU
6. Dont wanna hangout with spoiled brats in jindal
7. Some people recommended SOEL so I might even go there but by checking previous year trends its harder to get into sastra
8. My dads connections in chennai HC where quick to suggest sastra Thats all I can think of at the moment
Even nls dogs could recite last 50 years SC judges and their lineage in their sleep, and dobby already has a ppo from trilegal.
Conversion isn't a challenge they'll need good resources. Stick around long enough and do a decent job conversion will happen.
Best Part -
The faculty (not sure now, some good peeps have left)
The campus life (not sure now considering the rapid expansion, I still feel it's good though)
The infrastructure
Worst part
No jobs. In my time only 3 or 4 people (depending on how you define campus placement) out of a batch of 70+ students for placed. The number of students has only increased.
If you want campus placement, don't go. No LLM will help with that.
If you want to learn and pursue higher studies in law, and are willing to use the resources, you'll have a good time.
Cost wise, it's expensive AF for an LLM, so only go if you can afford it without it being a financial burden for years to come.
All said and done, that one year I spent at Jindal for my LLM was still one of the top things in my 33 year existence on earth. Absolutely loved it.
If you just do the course like a zombie you will most likely get some random job or no job at all.
Listen kid, you are just overthinking! Just go for NLS. When I was seeking admissions, I would have literally killed for NLS.
Think of it this way: the debate between NLS and JGLS is like the debate between a Merc and a Maruti. Are they both cars? Yes. Do they both have good gizmos? Yes. Are they equals? HELL NO!
JGLS is indeed one of the best law schools in India, but NLS is the best; that’s the difference. Hope this helps.
PS: This is my first post here; please provide feedback!
Thanks!
I did not knew Lawyers were so.. Twitter, LinkedIn, Jindal global sab chiz is capitalism. Kha rahe ho industrialists ke karan, aur angrezi me unko gaali bhi de rahe ho.
Itna hi democracy se prem hai, toh Human rights lawyer bano. Saw a Harvard Grad called some Bansal who has joined INC, she told people were not ready to give her Rs. 5000 to fight cases. 5000. See her NALSAR speech.
This is the harsh reality of India and law. That is why most parents force you to do Engineering. Kam se kam better salary ka chance toh hai. How many do Tier 1 and top corporates actually employ?
Aur phir aap aise politician ko jisko 40% India ka direct vote hai, aisa baat bol rahe hai. That is dumb.
Everything. Everything is recorded. Yes, your incognito browser ki porn choices are with CIA/NSA. You are just not important enough to be blackmailed. Reach Chief Secretary level and then see what happens. Even GoI monitors social media and our conversations. Search for NETRA and other projects.
I fail to see this hatred which alleged privileged people have for BJP. 40% janta direct vote di. Poorn bahumat se fair and square jeet rahe hai. Aur 70y raj ke baad aap keh rahe hai ki electoral bonds is corruption? Arey 70y se aap indirectly nahi kama rahe the?
People are dumb if they think INC politicians and INC doesn't have money and BJP is taking the money of industrialists. Guess who had NDTV shares till 2023? Ambani ji. Why he being a Gujarati and an industrialist, was indirectly promoting Ravish Kumar? Wasn't BJP aware?
They were. He and everyone plays both sides. Toh kam se kam yeh bakwas karne se pehle, hum illiterate capitalists ka bana hua khana khana chhod de. Private firms like KCo or Swiggy, zomato se dur rahe aur nandini ka milk piye aur Subsidized akhbar nikale.

But this business has nothing to do with law. Any commerce grad can do it. In fact, his wife even said on the show that she does not have any formal educational qualifications. What Shark Tank needs to do is give airtime to sophisticated legal businesses like Vakil Search, LawSikho, LPOs etc. These businesses can make 10 times the amount of money than the businesses they promote, like prepackaged food, skin creams etc.
I think Ramanuj should definitely apply to Shark Tank.
Main reason? Visa sponsoring is easier + interactions on open days and the like.
Mankiw is the GOAT for introductory microeconomics!
For a little more advanced book read Koutsoyiannis, dense but hugly informative and somewhat unconventional.

Kya kare kahan kare aur kaise kare? My law school is a joke we don't have any alumni. The only good thing is they suck the life out of students for 7-8 hours so atleast I'm getting a little accustomed to sit at the same place for long hours.
Would appreciate some tips from people who suffered the same.
Thankyou
I have no problem with the dance, it was absolutely fine, nothing particularly raunchy or anything in my opinion
But the lady had no right to ask for the video to be removed as it was a video of a public performance that she herself made public - and ▮▮▮ shared his opinion no matter how much one disagrees with it and ▮▮▮ was throughly schooled by twiterratti for his regressive claickbaity post
But this not paneer lady then comes along, threatens to file a false case against ▮▮▮ saying its online stalking etc typical false case bullshit, flexes her lawyer card, threatens ▮▮▮ to take down the post, files a police complaint, mumbai police contacts everyone involved to investigate, so MRAs on twitter lose their shit and dig her old posts
so lawyer lady from big law firm ▮▮▮, but when her employer is tagged and her job is threatened for saying she wants to ▮▮▮, she gets into big trouble
Hope this puts things into perspective

So is it just racism and bias towards India that NLSIU is ranked lower?
Providing a brief overview of my current situation; I study in a T1 NLU, possess decent internships, but acquiring more has become increasingly difficult. I have decent publications, primarily in blogs, I have publications in IndiaCorpLaw, IRCCL, CBCL, and CBFL. However, I lack mooting experience. That sums up my profile.
I kindly request your help on actions I can take to increase my chances of getting internships and placed. I am having sleepless nights and it has become overwhelming. I witness my peers securing internships through RCC while I struggle even to get shortlisted. It feels like I am spiraling into a void, and I need a clear course of action. Sometimes I have suicidal thoughts, I keep on wondering what I will tell my parents if I don't secure a job. It's becoming excruciatingly difficult because I don't know what to do anymore.
If otherwise you don't have paucity of funds and want to enjoy college/hostel life and have better prospects in life as a professional, go for Jindal/SLS-P/Christ, whichever suits you. From the three universities you mentioned, MNLU-N will ideally be my preference. MNLU-N has student crowd from various parts of the country. The output though in terms of money you invest (which is roughly 17 lakhs + your other expenses = Closing around 20-21 lakhs), is not good.

Needless to say I turned my preference towards law. My parents suggested CLAT to get into an NLU and enrolled me in online coaching. I was not serious in it and deservingly flunked it spectacularly with around a 10000 rank (it certainly didn't help that they changed the pattern during 2021 itself).
Next year in second sem, my parents insisted me to try getting into an NLU. I reluctantly did self study and got around 2500. Got called for counseling but rejected it because I was sure that I will get only a remote NLU at maximum. They seemed to be frustrated at my indifference to the exam and stopped pushing me.
However recently after I realized my priorities in life and decided that I wanted to enter corporate world in future, I came to know that Tier 1 NLUs are the only way. Regret hits hard like a truck.
Currently I am living in a Tier 2(or 3) city, with few peanut law firms, studying in a well reputed state university with minimal fees and minimal placements(barely 5). I badly want to get into a law firm which pays well. I am willing to go anywhere. Should I write CLAT again this December( will turn 21 on first week)? If not what should I do? Publications in UGC approved journals and Tier 1 Internships?
Its extremely shite.
If in the current scenario with a 10crore wall behind you, you are worried about running out, you will probably never retire. Explains a lot about partner insecurity and why they keep grinding despite unfair environments and having achieved their targets
Point is, status-quo is beneficial for few and fatal for the normal citizenry.
