One thing that bugs the hell out of me are calls from my seniors after 9.30pm for not really urgent stuff. Things they forgot to assign during the day.
My previous senior from a Lower Parel firm had this habit of calling me at 9.30pm or later and assigning fresh work or staff me on new matters. In addition she would give me a morning deadline for a deliverable. I would end up pulling an unplanned unexpected all nighter with very groggy times.
Then there was my boss, they would love to email me on Saturday evening for urgent work. Needless to say I didn't stay there much longer.
Does this happen to you? How did or do you deal with it? Personally, I dont tolerate this anymore, i ignore all messages and emails after 10pm.
They pay decent
Another thing seems that you give live in a parallel universe where no inflation exists. + even colleges which charge hardly 2L are paraded as super exclusionary and as epitome of elitism. With the way the ₹ has gone down 2L is just a normal amount in the current times. What do you want next? Colleges to teach you for ₹500/yearly and if they hike that by 100 you will start crying?
Incidentally, the ad had a number of vacancies law grads could have applied for, such as:
- Deputy Secretary, Insolvency (LLB degree required)
- Deputy Secretary, Intellectual Property Rights (LLB degree required)
- Director, Judicial reforms (LLB degree required)
- Director, International Laws (LLB degree required)
- Director, Financial Laws (LLB degree required)
- Director, Cyber Laws (LLB degree required)
- Director, Arbitration Laws (LLB degree required)
- Director, Education Laws (LLB degree required)

As you can see from the video, she didn't really say anything, beyond nodding and agreeing with what Sibal was saying, but it still came as a big surprise. Of course a lawyer has the freedom to represent whoever he/she wants, but don't you normally see human rights lawyers representing victims rather than the state? That's why I found it surprising. Has Indira Jaising ever appeared for the state in a human rights violation case, other than when she served as ASG? Have Colin Gonsalves, Prashant Bhushan and Vrinda Grover ever down so? Please correct my ignorance if I am wrong.
Also, pro tip: whatever your situation, if you don't want to really face problems in life, you seriously want to think about including GNLU in that list. Ganloo trolls have an unerring 'spotter' for threads that do not humbly acknowledge that they are a T1.
Your movement seems more emotionally driven than rational. If enemy of my enemy is my friend is the only guiding light- I dont know why anyone would sign up?
1. Students act on emails quicker
2. As they are batchmates, there is inherent jealousy, and nobody is able to use backdoor tricks (apart from dayz, where monitoring gets weak and a lot of informal communications are made). It is usually beyond their aukaat to benefit/harm you, but the issue is the information monopoly.
NLUs being govt insts they dont have a competent team to take care of these
Once you go theough the placement process, regardless of it being a ppo, you will find out that dealing with the recruitment committee is the singularly most degrading and humiliating experience in life.
Soln: be likeable and get elected to the RCC. Not very difficult since 10 people are usually in it.
But the joke is on you
20% - govt job prep
7% - LLM/MBA
3% - LPO/ BPO jobs (those who do not have financial backing like myself to dabble into any of the past 3 options)

So I started my career at a law firm, wherein, I have put in about 2.6 years worth of work. My experience lies in the fields of GC and TMT, however, I had a rude boss and moreover he was downright abusive. I completely lost my mind at the end of 2.6 years and thereafter called it quits. I, nevertheless, liked practice and I'm looking for better places to work at. Whilst my time apart, I have come to the realization that, the abuse was not justified at all. ( Well, it never really is.) Do you think, in your opinion (contributors opinion), that I may do something about this? May I file a formal complaint against the respective person with the BCI, under the grounds of moral turpitude (mental harassment... etc), or it just simply isn't worth the hassle and that moving on and hoping for better pastures - is my only option?
Do give me your side of experiences and genuine opinions, considering this is a platform that is, 'all anonymous'.
Looking forward!

1. Unaffordable and elitist, or
2. Value for money / Worth every rupee, or
3. Milking the desperate / Setting a debt trap, or
4. Inexpensive, with scope for further hikes
If you're comfortable with Mumbai train travel, you'll also get PG options at Dadar, and the Andheri-Vile Parle area
So many people here do BD work where they get to know numbers like this. Just drop what you know, it will fill some gaps atleast.
Instead of bragging about how your firm makes more than others, which is so stupid since what trickles down to you is the same as your fellow slaves in other firms anyway.
@Mods please mark this as contested.
Reach out to Anubhav - he is a young dynamic partner.

TBH I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, making a reel like this is a good way to mobilise the youth to seek justice. Also, it's inevitable that the incident will one day be the subject of a crime files episode, or inspire a movie or documentary (just as Nirbhaya inspired Delhi Crimes on Netflix). Such dramatisations help future generations to know what happened and keep the incident alive in our memories. So the students have taken the initiative before anyone else which is good.
On the other hand, it is perhaps a bit early to do this, as the incident is still raw in everyone's minds. I also didn't like the aesthetics of it: the flashing red light, dark room like a horror movie etc. It could have been done more tastefully. There are also some key factual issues which we need the CBI to investigate. The reel shows one perpetrator, but it's still not known if there were multiple people. The CBI is investigating if there was a larger conspiracy at play
What do all of you think? Do you think I am being unnecessarily critical of a good student initiative? Just to clarify, I don't doubt the good intentions of the students and applaud their sincerity to spread awareness of the case. We all need to fight for justice.✊
Also, how is the Partner, and what are the PPO prospects for that team?
Thanks a lot!!!! Truly appreciate it!!!
Please help!! Thank you so much!
For khaitan, the fixed component for a new equity partner is 1.8 crores PA + bonus which goes upto 150% of the fixed component. Would like to know the amount for other firms as well
SA1 - 26 + 10
PA1 - 45 + 20
Partner - 75 + 30-40
Equity partner - 1.2 fixed + bonus depends on profits
Senior partner - 3.2 fixed + variable bonus depending upon profits
Trust me, no one was there to guide me but you will regret after joining here. My batch just passed out and people don't have jobs. Leave that hardly a few people have assesment internships that too insignificant ones.
