Re the former, is important to have a superior command of English if you wish to be part of a law review. Just as itβs important to have fitness and stamina if you wish to play for the Indian cricket team. So no sympathy there. I support the decision of NLIU. Tough luck.
Re the latter, bullying and mean comments are not cool. Students who do this are wrong.
But i can nliu in mp general domicile.I am confused between nliu and nluo becuase nluo us growing tremendously wheress nliu growth is stagnant and it is detoriating year by year. Can anyone tell me the choice..
One more question to these im currently in dnlu first year .Im 19 and by the time i enter nluo or nliu i will be 20 and .graduating in 25. Does age matters or it's upto you
I have seen in my batch many are 20 and 21 in tier 3 college .
Global Law College
Na hi students ko
Na hi lala firms partners ko
So calculate yourself.
I gave clat this year and got an AIR in 1900s they fucked up my results 4.5 less than what it was supposed to be as per the final key. I did fill up for SLAT and looking forward to give LNAT as well. though i have a few questions, please don't mind them if they're a bit vague i am really anxious.
1. JGLS on scholarship vs sls pune, fees isn't a problem for me no requirement for loans if the fees is below 8lpa but idk if it'll be a good investment or not.
jindal would be considerably cheaper with a 50% or 75% scholarship.
2. will it be a good decision to study for mhcet abd try for glc? not from maharashtra though.
3. what about a tier 3 nlus are they any good, idts personally and money isn't really an issue but still should i go with this instead of the above mentioned.
please guide me and provide any suggestions.
I can take a drop as i am only in 12th but honestly clat sucks, i am quite decent when it comes to english and critical reasoning so can do good in lnat but i hate the vague questions clat gives they suck man.

NLS' policy doesn't seem too strict to me. A midnight curfew is perfectly reasonable. You also want your students to work efficiently during daylight hours and not work through the night every night.
Except the NALSAR people who heard back from Corp 3, is there anyone else who has heard back specifically from Corp Team, Mumbai Office yet?
- Big Green Campus, 55 Acres in fact (There is a reason why we also call it National Lawn University)
- Single Rooms from First Year, also first years will get new renovated washrooms and pantry which look very fancy. (You can also install ACs)
- Good Party Culture (Just ask any senior about the Haveli/SDL/Kokum stories)
- Good Sports Culture (One of the best sports contingent across all the law school circle)
- Very Good Library, the infra is getting updated and upgraded at a very fast pace thanks to the new VC.
- Very good ADR, Mooting and Debate Culture.
- Epic Fests: NH-65 and Yuvardha are really good
Supposed Cons:
- Summers are really brutal, but fortunately you can install ACs in your rooms.
- BA Faculty (OP, Asha the less said the better)
- Food: Good enough if you are a vegetarian, but non-veg variety and taste is seriously lacking in the Jodhpur and Rajasthani Cuisine.
- Toxic: People love to back-bit*h and love spreading rumors, toxic competition, groupism. (This problem is in almost every T1 Law School)
- For some T1 city folks Jodhpur as city might not be too exciting as it is slow-paced and conservative.
- Public Transport: Auto Mafia and local city buses all the way, poor transport situation after 10 PM.
1. I am a blind person. I study law in a western country at a university generally considered among the desirable destinations for anyone wishing to study law, whether at undergraduate or postgraduate level. Not perhaps Harvard or Oxford type "desirable", but say the next level after that.
2. My institutional library, which, obviously, as a law student, I use a lot, operates on a 24/7 basis. It has pretty good infra, all the usual database subscriptions etc. Sounds pretty sweet? Just one caveat: all the staff with the actual expert knowledge on how to operate the technical systems, be it photocopying devices, scanners or printers, or librarians who can actually help you if you aren't doing a very good job of going about finding readings you need to be finding/those are hard to find or help you resolve small technicalities with databases, leave by 8pm on week days and come in on very reduced hours on weekends, leaving the helpdesks manned by security guards who have hash technical knowledge.
3. As a blind person, I tend to prefer using a quiet space in our library, so I use our Assistive Technology Room (or ATR as we sometimes call it), a quite room with limited ID card access which only disabled students are allowed into, so that I can use screen-reader-enabled computer without headphones.
4. I think the library's very flexible timings are useful for people that may not have very positive learning environments in other places (many private accommodation halls are pretty bad in terms of noise, for example, and my uni doesn't allow people to stay in institutional halls beyond a point).
5. I, personally, have never used the library beyond 8pm. Just see no need. My disability means I am exempted from being disallowed halls. Personally, I have found halls to be as conducive to studying/revising/essay writing/planning or whatever as the library (though I must admit that most accommodation buildings here have single rooms, unlike the situation at NLS, per my understanding), except when there is construction or maintenance work going on there (thankfully not too often). I have always thought that if there are things I need/want to do in person in the library which I may need help with (e.g., sometimes I have to print, scan and edit PDFs of some journal articles which come as firewall protected, which make my screen reader go heywire), better to do it when someone who can actually help is around. As for my sighted friends, I have a good number of these and know enough people in my cohort to think it's a representative sample size, nobody that I know sits around in the library for that long either. In fact, on days when there are fewer classes, I know folks who don't bother with the library at all, and use either their accommodation or home spaces to study. The thing is, with a strong collection of EBooks held within an internal library repository, journal and database subscriptions, you actually end up "using the library" wherever it is that you are studying, and doing what people do in libraries (reading, thinking and writing) wherever you are. If I couldn't find something I was looking for and had made sure to leave no stone unturned to find it, I'd just use email to ask for help, not go in person unless I actually was in the library already.
While I don't know the nuts and bolts of the NLS situation, I do think this conversation has been lacking some nuance. Hope this perspective helps some.
Now coming to the college life part. Every NLU (from top to bottom) is marred with its own internal problems, which may not sound detrimental to you in your initial first year, but as you progress, you will understand that they are detrimental to your career and overall well-being. VCs creating their own draconian policies, faculties favoritism, unreasonable hostel and college policies, student cultural shock, and insufficient academic guidance. Lots of permutations and combinations, you name it, you would find them in any NLU. But one thing you get from an NLU - the top 10 ones: the scope of building connections, having a good and strong alumni-based network, creamy layer crowd. That's it.
Now coming to the internship part, let me break it to you - If you are thinking of building your career around corporate law firms [since most of the first years are enticed by the fancy corporate law firm lifestyle and the big money; irrespective of having an interest to pursue one or not], then college matters the least, IF and ONLY IF you have CONNECTIONS. Let me put emphasis on it, connections can give you the best internships and even placement. NLU tag is the least of your worries.
If litigation is what you want to pursue or judiciary or civil service, then I don't think an NLU would give you any boost whatsoever.
In the end, make your decision at your convenience, life is too different for every person out there. Things that did not work for me, may work wonders for you, or even partially for someone else. So, keep your options wide and flexible and make a reasoned and well-thought decision. You are the best judge of your own life and no one else.
And enjoy your life a bit.
Cheers!
Have a good day!
Just found this a bit weird. Punjabi pop is the hottest trending genre but they are mostly oblivious about it. And even among Western music the whole world listens to Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and Bad Bunny but they are just meh about it. Though they do listen to Coldplay, especially the Gen Y partners.
Just my observationsβ¦.

My weeks are also filled with work, but I cherish little moments like the ones I mentioned in the initial comment. Just wanted to know if being a partner is worth aspiring towards!
Also are LLM students allowed to go for Moots?
I am writing this post under the light of recent comments about MCAβNLIU is a sweet but the upper cream of the college is soooo toxicccc
The reason for NLS's existence was to offer a 5-year law program. Now all it has done is unbundled the two to offer two 3-year programs, coupled with a land-for-seats scam - it is a laughable mix of innovations in practice.
When clowns like you start defending decisions that are devoid of any iota of common sense, that's when the problems start. If NLS wants to commit suicide, who are we to stop them?
No hostel capacity, no land but add new courses and make money is NLS mantra now.
God save the premiere institution it used to be.

It happened in CLAT 2024 too, the hotstars of boβ29 are in NLUD instead of NLS.
https://www.legallyindia.com/convos/topic/407479-CLAT-and-NLS
I bombed my CLAT got a 98** rank and fine in AILET but won't be getting in NLUD. I am a bit confused now I would be 20 next year and 21 when the session starts if I do perp for CLAT26. I feel awkward now even when I first gave the exam there were 17 year olds in the exam center
Tl;dr should I give CLAT/AILET when I am 20 would it pose any issues?

Can I shift from b&f to say cap marks or projects?
As someone who is in a t-1 college and considered retaking clat to make it to NLS some time ago- I just want to express how grateful I am that my luck(end-sem exams) didn't allow me to. Life in NLS is absolute hell IF you aren't someone who doesn't mind sacrificing their social life, burning the midnight oil year long, and be preached that law school isn't about corporate placements. NLS, in the name of academic rigour, can make your life absolute hell. But if you are absolutely sure you have the grit, then go ahead with it. Ultimately, it still is the best law school in the country. I won't talk abou the impact of increased batch sizes on academics and corporate placements here, there are ample threads on it.
NLUD on the other hand is a safer bet. Small batch, doing well academically, decent placements. It is a balanced t-1.
https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/world/us/mit-expels-phd-student-prahlad-iyengar-for-pro-palestine-essay/articleshow/116143246.cms
What you get is, the new CAM cum the IndusLaw team who joined CAM. I think only Delhi CAM CM is untouched due to the lovely leadership in Delhi office of CAM CM
With the bit of context I have as given by you, if you are definitely getting a seat at NLUD, please go ahead with it as Delhi has better connectivity with your hometown and you can find really cheap accommodations in Delhi to ease the financial burden you may have to undertake. Also, you get to intern a lot more regularly as opposed to the set internship breaks in the other NLUs, allowing you to get an edge in terms of work ex (which matters a lot during placements). NLUD has instituted a lot of scholarship programs too.
Only and only in terms of expenses would I discourage NALSAR as the campus is quite cut off from the city and the travelling alone during weekends sums up in to easy 700 cab ride (one way) and I am assuming the flight tickets back home and etc, would only increase your expenses. Not like the Bangalore campus is closer either, however, there is enough of a community to survive off around the campus itself.
I personally know people from NLS in their final year who are yet to get placed, however with a decent batch rank, any of the NLUs you have mentioned will surely secure you a great placement. The alumni network in all of them will aid you a lot if utilised properly. All the best!
2. Obviously, when did I say it wasn't.
3. Dont irritate them, but they should know how active you're working. Be smart
2. NLS starting a high school isn't the flex you think it is. Well-known universities in England have tried (and been successful in) such projects. One such attempt was recently covered by the Sunday Times of London - see below:

I havenβt heard of anyone under 25 being appointed as an arbitrator by a court in India. If it is true, itβs certainly exceptional.
Can anyone please share teams at T1 in M&A or PE/VC that hires freshers? Preferably in Delhi NCR region.
And how to make sure if you get an internship at their firm that you actually get to work with them only??
Thank you!!
The nature of pressure upon becoming a partner is very different: managing client expectations, team, ensuring the deliverable goes out on time and is of a top notch quality. Yes, work is still hectic (it doesnβt ease out over the years) and I still have to work the weekends (because of the excellent service industry we are in) so we donβt have much time to relax.
So, if you are looking for a chiller life, law firms are not the place for you because it is not easy.
Got rank (500- 550) SC rank in clat pg '24. Can I get any good college?
Any advice on how to find out how the teams hires? By taking to peeps in office?
I know the callback is in no way a guarantee but for a PPO isn't it kind of necessary,no?
And you mean keep the partners in loop of the work done??
