It is worth it if you focus purely on the academics and networking part of college, moving around to do other things on campus including college societies will take up enough of your time and sanity thereby excluding you from the top 10% (conservative figures). College offers good opportunities to grow and learn along the way and eventually get yourself in a good spot at the end of your final year depending on whether you want to pursue law firm jobs, practice or go for masters (abroad or domestic) provided you remain focused on your goals, there are many things on campus that can distract a person.

That being said, if you have got admission in any other college at equivalent levels, you should go for them, placements have not been the strongest suits of SLSP as of now. Wishing you the best of luck!

I was from the very first batch of the LLM-IBL Course, you will not be getting much assistance in placements and internships, it would be something that the students of the batch work for, on their own.

IICA also caters PGIP much better than the LLM-IBL batches and their placement methodology is also geared towards PGIP (opportunities being mostly from ARCs and IPEs). Hence, it does not work for LLM students who wish to pursue profession of Law in the Commercial/ Corporate fields.

Fee wise also the 14L which were paid by 1st batch could not be redeemed due to lackluster management and non existent placement drive. I don't know the situation about the second batch though and a third batch has also started.

Both the institutes are not inclined to make much efforts for the long term success of the course, which is evident by the course covered by IICA which is not beneficial for LLM scholars and will be better for someone who wishes not be a Lawyer but a compliance professional.

This is despite the constant feedback the student body has given to the institutes for providing a competitive course structure which can actually be beneficial for post graduates.

See if you can get into the LLM in Insolvency course introduced by NLU Delhi as it also gives you a PGIP certification (although its first batch is yet to be completed and their results are yet to be seen).

You are better off avoiding the NNL-IBL offered by NALSAR and IICA.

I’d say Day 3 interviews were not even based on personality, they just asked us “we’ve read your CV, what else is there apart from that which would interest us” and “why did you choose these practice areas?” Apart from that, they weren’t interested in asking any questions whatsoever, so in my opinion, it completely depends on the counsel who’s taking your interview. (The interview only lasted 5 -7 mins at the end because, the counsel was not interested in taking more time and, there was no HR round. So, I guess, choose some points about yourself that would impress them in that short amount of time.) This is as far as Trilegal Interview goes. Khaitan’s shortlist is yet to come out, so can’t speak for that.

Fresher recruitment for the batch of 2027, along with a MAJORITY of PPOs and Campus Placements will be given in and towards the end of 2026, not 2025.

A basic education in economics will tell you that a falling local currency against the global currency is not only a problem, but an economic catastrophe. We are a net importer of oil and gas, paid for, mostly, in dollars. Therefore a falling rupee against the dollar makes oil expensive and therefore everything expensive (as the entire modern civilization is built on usage of oil). Most of them manage teams with high numbers, and bring in huge revenues. You think they will just allow AI to seep in? For example SEBI proposed to revise

ICDR regulations, and now even the revised ones are minor changes. Drafting of IPO, QIP documents itself is a art, if AI can do it, why do clients approach firms. The work may seem mundane but it is very intersectional once you go up in the long run!

This also depends on who is taking the interview. For us, it was done in a way where interviews were scheduled over 3 days and every time it was different partner/counsel taking the interview. The first day the counsel asked them primarily about their internships and the basics of contracts and stuff, and if they had any publications, then something on that. Day 2 and 3 were completely opposite - it was mostly about one's personality. They asked questions like what is your favourite movie, your strengths/weaknesses, etc. So keep asking your batchmates who are done with their interview what kind of questions are being asked to see if there is a discernible pattern.

I had been initially focusing on my internships and what to say until I realised that in my batch of 10 people, it was not being asked, and it sort of helped to know and prepare beforehand about movies and similar stuff.

It's really sad to see how friendships and relationships in law school have been destroyed because people hold opposing political views. At my NLU, two former best friends split because of this. They even had a huge physical fight in the hostel, which left one guy with a broken arm and one guy with a black eye. Believe it or not, but the fight started over the issue of legalising gay marriages and then got out of hand after both sides started making personal attacks! A very nice couple also broke up because the guy supported Modi and the girl supported Rahul. In fact, the girl's friends drove a wedge between the two and kept poisoning her mind against him.

But here's the reality. 99% of our politicians are corrupt, communal criminals. They are all in cahoots with the same crooked businessmen. Look at how politicians and entire parties shuffle effortlessly between the NDA and INDIA, in pursuit of money and power.

The viral Jindal wedding video should have ▮▮▮-▮▮▮ all of you. Even look at the so-called leftists of JNU. Shehla Rashid is a BJP supporter now. Kanhaiya Kumar has dumped the CPI(M) and joined the Congress. ▮▮▮.

Even a surrendered Maoist leader recently became a spokesman for a mining company! It's ordinary people who fight on social media and on the streets over ideology. The politicians don't care. They manipulate the common people. All the politicians are close drinking buddies after 8 pm. They're just acting in front of TV cameras. Look at global politics too. So please focus on your studies and stop this political nonsense! We all will become part of the establishment, once we join corporate law firms. Please work hard on your grades. That will define you and determine your future, not your politics.

The former is advising MNCs that are deeply entrenched in the neoliberal capitalist system. The latter not only advises pro-Modi companies through his law firm, but has posted in praise of the Modi government's policies. These people were smart enough to sort out their grades first and get plum jobs.

Janak Dwarkadas said it best in an interview once. He said one should not expect to be famous or gain eminence as a counsel. Of himself, he said what he gained was in so many ways just pure luck. The place I work at is a Tier II law firm in the tech and policy space, and an A2 in the tech policy team makes around 14L, including bonus.

For KCO PPO- grades are pretty much irrelevant. What really matters is how well your presentation is received and your feedback form is filled up. If three or more SAs fill up your form - then its a good sign that you're gonna get the interview.

However, don't underestimate the interview - it is hard and a lot of people do get rejected from it.

One of the funniest situations that I got to know about at Indus recently. How a junior partner brought down the entire team after two senior partners left the team. Most of the good seniors do not prefer to hire AoRs, or continue keeping a junior on if they’ve cleared the AoR. There may be exceptions who do but then that’s a great path.

Also, most good Chambers that everyone targets will not take you on as a fresher. Work with AoR of your liking (preferably on some good panel so has volume of work) for a first couple of years and then move to a Senior.

When the rupee softens, their margins quietly improve, remittance inflows rise, and export competitiveness increases.

Contrary to popular belief, the rupee is not fixed or “propped up” by the RBI at any arbitrary level. India follows a market-determined, managed-float regime. The exchange rate is discovered by demand and supply. The RBI steps in only to smooth excessive volatility, not to defend political vanity levels. This is precisely why India still has substantial foreign-exchange reserves—because it does not burn dollars trying to fight economic gravity.

Yes, a weaker rupee does make imports and foreign education more expensive in absolute rupee terms. That is the genuine middle-class pinch. I gave my CLAT PG 2025 this year but I don't think I will get good NLU. The thing is I have done my LLB from state university and it does not hold any value either. I am so sorry that you are going through this, but all I know is that sometimes the worst things happen to us to lead us somewhere better. Someone very close to me was let go and they were thinking that they should quit as the job was making them miserable.
