Our Vice Chancellors "grand masterplan" which involves re-developing significant portions of the college campus is taking its toll on students. The present ongoing works are for the two main academic blocks, portions of which have already been demolished and are now being reconstructed. I am not really sure what was going through the VC's mind when he wanted to introduce such groundbreaking reforms, but he definitely did not conduct a feasability study on student life and their mental piece. Classes (which go on from 9 to 7 PM) have been severely disrupted this entire trimester because of the continuous, deafening, crass, unbearable noises that are created by the hardworking construction team located directly adjacent, above, or below classes. Concentrating in class for a few subjects is already hard enough, and it gets so bad in some cases where we cannot hear the teacher/speaker or content being presented even after using microphones. Ironically, this has happened in classes taught by the VC himself, but this was all in vain - he just continued to wax eloquence on the intricacies of Jurisprudence II and feign indifference What makes things worse is non-action on part of stakeholders, who have been reduced to "passive observers" and just seem to normalise noise pollution. I hope someone who has g**d mein gooda files a PIL in the Karnataka HC challenging this bloody nonsense. Enough is enough.

The SBA is busy planning the next trek to Uttari Beta or the next leadership summit (Admin sponsored 2 day vacation to a resort for all the students who are in position of power). At this point, the admin is just bribing the student reps😂. There are countless other issues on which a protest could have taken place but ofc that will not happen because the SBA wants to go on trips on admin's money which is unfortunately being sponsored by the students' fees.

Sudhir is not building his own home. He’s building the University. You must bear with it. Whenever a new flyover is built in the city, everyone faces a traffic jam, many people get delayed in office or reaching home. Huge collective pain and inconvenience. But once the flyover is ready, life of every user improves. The city improves. The university is also a city. Construction is a necessity. Be proud that Sudhir is unlike past VCs who only wait to end their term in peace and comfort and choose to do nothing. Sudhir is taking huge efforts to take NLS to the next level. Appreciate him and bear with him.

A perfectly valid point. However, you will have to be braced for vulture-like downvoting and massive abuse from other LI readers. Somehow, this site attracts everybody who has an axe to grind regarding this particular VC. Let them get into Oxford BCL, or graduate as the best all-round student at NLS, or succeed at the Rhodes Scholar application, or have a good enough PhD project to get accepted for Oxford DPhil for supervision by Paul Craig and which later becomes an OUP-published book, or let them achieve anything... but no. Their determination to uphold mediocrity is so great, that they'll do anything to take down someone who has (a) achieved this stuff; and (b) is trying to create an environment where those with great intellectual capability can thrive.
