This is a bit of a long post. I acknowledge that most of the people here are working professionals and I value their time, but if some can spare the time to read this and guide me, I'll be extremely grateful.

I will be going to HNLU this year. When I see people mention their T1 colleges and talk about future prospects, I can't help but feel a little disheartened. I have been seeing a lot of people say that it's declining and that one should just totally abandon Tier 2 and only aim for Tier 1. What adds to this concern are the scarce placement stats that I have seen regarding the college - it has mostly been AZB as the sole T1 offering campus placements. Closing doors from the onset scares me a bit. I don't know if the situation has improved or will improve.

Another question in my mind is whether or not I should take another chance with CLAT (will be my third time if I would). I basically see these things as my future options:

1. Continue with the college despite some reservations and whatnot. Here, I think I might have to make peace with the possibility of moving to a T1 after a job or be confined to a handful of T1 firms.

2. Take a partial drop. However, I don't trust this enough as I feel like that pressure of doing well in college might linger around in my subconscious at the very least and I might end up messing up both. Apart from this, the problem that I encountered on the exam day just seemed like something that I couldn't have anticipated, it was one extremely convoluted sentence that I just couldn't decipher even after re-reading it again and again, which costed me T1 NLUs. Though I now know how I could've tackled it but it seems like there always will be one unforeseen thing for me to trip on the exam day (happened in my first attempt as well with an unexpected AR question).

P.S. - I know that this is a forum for professionals but I feel like I can get some real information from people who are at least already in the field here. In other places, it's mostly just aspirants giving advice to one another.

All of them who have been recruited have studied at those institutions pre-pandemic.

Back then, with active student bodies who actually cared about their future of their institutions instead of "living in the moment", they were powerhouses.

Also, the real question should be - why do their alumni prefer nls instead of giving back to their alma mater? Sounds like a retention failure.

Have heard Jaideep's team isn't hiring, though? Spoke to someone who did a call back with his team in Feb 2025, but didn't get a PPO cause the team wasn't hiring.

I'll be interning with Jaideeps team in Nov, so now idk what to do. Should i asked to be changed to Nikhil's team (but i dont think HR would let me + it might offend jaideep?). Not sure if he'll be expanding now, has there been any news of hires since?

This ain't propaganda. The explosion at Trilegal during COVID will pop. The laterals without books and lightweights being promoted are starting to burn some fingers. The 1000 crore revenue was tom-tommed in a book and elsewhere - that was reached already during Covid. After COVID, it's been sputtering. When other places opened with equity, people left, too. Trilegal's all equity model is great, but sustaining it in tough times is hard.

No. It is always a bad idea to look at a the music put out by a few people, or even the mainstream music industry at large, to say that the quality of music has declined in the recent past. There are hundreds of thousands of passionate artists, big and small, who create an abundance of quality music. If anything, what is clear is that the people who make such arguments are not exposed to a wide variety of music.

How does this interview prove anything? If I provide a clip of an interview which went wrong for a STEM grad then does that mean that BA LLB is better than BSc LLB? Try to think and provide a good argument for your position instead of latching on to the first vaguely relevant thing that you come across.

And here we have NLS offering an overpriced humanities degree like a regular 'arts' college. In all its wisdom, located in the tech hub of Asia, it thought this to be a great idea.

On the other hand, the NFSU Law doesn't offer a BA-LLB. It offers only BBA-LLB and BSc-LLB with a focus on corporate forensics and data science, respectively. That's foresight.

Lol. True. For future students and scholars, please incorporate tech related certificates and licenses in your CV. Especially in research. AI will definitely sweep away the lower rung of every job, so better to adapt and understand it immediately. University gives you that time. Once you're in a job it would be difficult to make time. Trust me.

But so does NLS - in its case, it is even worse, and NLS pretends to be a state government university.

I'm a UR male candidate and just calculated my CUET PG 2026 score to be 192. Based on previous trends, I'm fairly confident aboout getting into LC1 or LC2 at DU.

My primary goal during these years is to intern as much as possible. My goal is to build a career in Environmental Law and Policy Research, leaning on my previous background in conservation.

Im stuck between LC1 (2:00PM-7:30PM) and LC2(8:00AM - 2:00PM). Are firms and offices more likely to accept a morning intern (9am to noon) or an evening intern (3pm onwards)?

What other factors should I consider? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Calling something ‘shady’ just because you don’t understand it is a bit telling. Partners don’t risk their reputation on people they don’t trust. Maybe focus on why that trust exists instead of speculating about someone else’s success. Every firm has someone who complains about ‘favouritism’ instead of asking why they’re not the one being chosen. This sounds like that person. Get a life and some help!

Look, focus on your work - and you will do well. Think of articles to write, write them, and ask the partner if it is good and they can Co-publish with you. Always necessary to hustle. Don’t sacrifice your growth for some petty politics. Even if this alluded favouritism is real, the partner will never stop your growth if you do a stand up job. Why care about the others?

Relieved. I never really clicked with anyone at university but kept trying and now that it’s ending, it feels like I don’t have to keep putting in efforts anymore which never materialised anyway. I’ve realised I’d rather be acquaintances to everyone I meet than try to make friends and it’s helped me quite a bit :)

Well, In India people give birth to a child even when they cannot sustain to meet his daily requirement. The intention behind this move was right but the execution was bad as you cannot force somebody to undergo vasectomies. I feel like we should have a law where there should be criteria that needs to be fulfilled to give a childbirth like income, education, mental state of the parents and much more. Like in the developed countries we see when a parent is incompetent of raising a kid the kid is sent to a foster home and this should also happen in India.

Overpopulation is not India's problem.

India's problem is mismanagement of resources. Mismanaged investment of national money and resources.

A fat and greedy and gluttonous upper class which controls and hoards wealth and invests in the wrong assets. And most of all rent seeking behaviour from them and the government.

Certain things don't change irrespective of the change of guard. So don't be filled by the hoopla and whispers. The wheel was not broken and the band will play on. The problem was never the Reds, Green or whichever colour comes next as per your prediction. All of them merely took advantage of the internal rot. Now its 1.60L/ Annum, with 180 students, new LLB 3 year course and 17 full time faculties lmao.

For Delhi circuit would recommend to join young set of lawyers who look promising and have good set of clients. Can list few basis my knowledge and presence across bar:

4. Gaurav Sethi (NCLAT and NCLT)

Don't misguide them. There are barely any above average jobs for freshers, let alone some older than 30. OP I suggest join litigation, it will not judge you on ageism. Also if you feel the need for power and privileges than attempt judiciary after gaining said experience. DO NOG JOIN CORPORATE.

I agree. I feel OP loves money and title more than law. If you really love law join the courts, litigate and after 7-8 years try for the higher judiciary or continue litigating. At your age that's always the best option. I have seen people in their 50s who actually love law and they study at DU, intern, join delhi courts and now really enjoying court life. Anyone who says corporate, definitely wants it only for money and not for the love of law

He is joining CMSIndusLaw in a far better position & would have more freedom to run his practice. As new of Head of Practice, it comes with better work environment, no micro management, promoters breathing down your neck, no choking with unrealistic targets & yes better pay, importantly!

MNLU conducts the NISM LLM program. The value of that degree is attached to MNLU. The campus is outside the city though. If I had to choose i'd choose NLS or NALSAR over NISM.

You can prepare for additional exams while undergoing your LLM. The schedule is not that hectic from what I know if you're already accustomed to NLU culture.
