Beyond the things already mentioned:

HNLU Admin has mastered the skill of public relations to some extent. The only thing that they managed to pull off in the last few years is signalling to the outside world that the University is functioning at its best. However, it is as dismantled internally as it could be.

The students work tirelessly to get everything for themselves, be it moot court achievements, conferences, publications, and internships. It's not a hidden fact that when it comes to a PPO, a lot depends on the relationship between the concerned law firm and the University. The students have faced this for a long time that despite doing extremely well, we don't get a fruitful response.

The Admin has its stance clear - we won't invite any firm to collaborate; the firm should pitch us their ideas. I don't know, but are we Harvard or something? The placements are in shambles; be it Batch 2025, 2026, or 2027, every batch has taken the heat. But but the Admin believes that the firm should come to us. All they do is act disrespectful to anyone and everyone!

And it is not just the mooting culture. The environment in HNLU from faculties to the students will treat you like you're worthless just because you don't do moots. We don't have basic facilities in this college. To give an example we have a "night canteen" that closest at 10pm❤️. Post that, you have no place to go or get food from. Simple requests form students to make our lives here a little bit better are ignored on the basis of "not having enough funds"...but they apparently had funds to redo the teacher's cabins and open a cafe solely for teachers. Hnlu needs a protest. But there's not point to this really, everybody is scared. There's no batch unity. It's each for their own despite every single one of us facing the same issues. Vo dialogue hai na...reed ki haddi hai, khareedne se nhi milti...we need to have some spine. PLEASE. Because we'll never get our college lives back. Do we really want to live like this? Let's stand up.

Didn't HNLU throw out a ▮▮▮ earlier and it's back to square one. I guess so called successful protests etc by students (self serving faculty and admin folks simply work the levers to extract personal advantages) usually caused the Frontman to be changed. Everything else remains the same. Also student bodies have historically lacked the tenacity to root out entrenched rot and muck from the Univ system. Therefore a "changed" Frontman or Woman soon organises external and internal acolytes and hollowed out student bodies to run the same scams again.

Hit and keep hitting where it hurts. Follow your and their monies. And the answers will emerge. Also it's not a sprint. Aquire and nurture the stamina for a marathon.

The irony of all of this is that after signing this circular on the three member rule, the registrar left for judging some moot😭😭

I personally have had multiple experiences from admin through societies here, where something we propose gets rolled back because our admin doesn't want to fund it.

This uni boasts of about 25 (or more😭) research centres. I havent seem them actually do research. When we request them to invite people, the immediate response is who will fund. This is a public uni and yoy have money allotted for research centres, WHERE IS IT??? The only research they do is have some "One Day International Conference" where you barely get three decent speakers.

Your life will be ruined. What you see about hnlu students are things we do on our own merit. The admin has always been an obstacle we have jump through in the series of things. Every instance where we have won/participated in a competition, we have had to face some battle w the admin. The admin is there, for taking the credit and posting something on their official handle. I. have never seen them do anything supporting the students.

The people who call you slurs are not a random redneck you never meet. It may very well be your colleagues. There are a lot of tales in IT field, and even in Big 4 where such whites were caught and exposed.

If you put your head down and work, keep your ego aside and have the genuine desire to grow and learn, I don’t understand how age could be a problem. The battle will majorly be internal- taking orders from ppl much younger than you but that’s totally up to you. Once you’re in the system, your work and attitude will decide your future. Getting in might be a little hard considering the ageism that exists and recruiter’s perception about your fragile ego, but that’s going to be everywhere unless you start something of your own.

If law is something you really want to do- go for it and try getting into NLU Bangalore if you can. I’m sure you’ll meet at least 1 person around your age.

Will the same be true for In-house, etc. roles?If I did very good in all the semesters & learn a lot during internships, is it possible to land in a fairly paid in-house role, may be in an NBFC,AIF, etc, if not big banks, for same reason you highlighted above?

But moving abroad requires atleast a handsome capital.I've a few friends who were admitted to a M.Research at good univ. in UK, but life there is not good at all, mostly working everyday, all evening in restaurants, uber, etc., & for living, & getting into PhD is far tougher there, than India..life is tough EVERYWHERE!!!!

But, if one puts equal effort & dedication into the job, why wouldn't they become partners due to age?it takes 9-12 years to become a partner na, generally ofc, I understand there may be so many other factors.
