On the one had, the PA might be correct and absolutely being mistreated (which is wrong on his part).

On the other hand, the PA might be absolutely incorrect in how she chooses to describe the situation (which is wrong on her part).

On this forum, we’ve actually started shooting first and thinking later, we’ve started believing all the allegations without hearing the complete story; maybe we need to rethink our approach and start questioning what we’re seeing here.

The assumption that if you work really hard you can get placed after a 3 year LLB from an NLU (including NLS) is wrong. Most people who get placed from the 3 year LLB at good places had very good CV prior to joining the 3 year LLB course. Some of them are CAs, people who had done MBA from a good IIM before, among others. Apart from this, some of them also gets placed through connections. The number of people who get placed without a good background and only based on the work during the 3 year LLB course are around 4-5 out of a batch of 120. So yeah, there is no guarantee of a good job after 3 year LLB even from NLS. Most of them start litigating where they earn 20-25k at max.

Why will it? Sudhir has made it clear since day one of his tenure that placement is not one of his priorities, academics is. You may dislike it, or protest against his stance, but he has been quite transparent about it. He does not believe that the university exists for getting people jobs.

He can't keep pushing through the rigorous attendance policies, academic policies when other top NLUs are blatantly giving exemptions for internships. We only get 3 months in a year for internships and among them, June is a month where every college has a vacation so the chances of getting an internship or scheduling a callback becomes extremely difficult. Another month is October which sees a lot of holidays so the opportunity to impress the team is limited. The batch of 2027 will have a horrible placement and I hope that it rings a bell.

Tasks wildly depend. Matters, based on listings/dates can pile up. Certain days are slow, others are extremely tedious with a lot of nervousness for filing your rejoinder in time before the filing department shuts shop, or if matters are clashing and your arguing counsel is not present in your courtroom. (Bombay folks can relate to commuting from CR. 16 to CR.16A) Your most typical task as an A0 and A1 will be between diligence of documents, research and/or support work for seniors like drafting.

In contrast to this, there are NO slow days in Delhi Disputes if you are in a decent-sized terms in terms of filing. Days which seem slow actually bother you and you check and recheck your case-diary entry list or calendar to verify in case you missed a meeting and will be blasted for it by your seniors.

Two questions that are unrelated to the substance of this post:

1. Was the "[AI generated]" flag inserted into the title by the OP or by the moderators?

2. If the moderators inserted the flag, on what basis was this done? The use of the m dash? Or the bombastic, quasi news coverage-like tone of the post? Or both? Is it that the two factors in conjunction point in the direction of AI or something? Or do you have some positive proof that this was generated by AI such as an AI detection tool? If so, what tool are you using and what is its reliability?

NB: I am not the OP in disguise. The only reason I opened the post was actually the flag, because the fact is that my career ambitions are such that what does or does not happen at a T1 disputes practice is information as irrelevant to me as Sherlock Holmes found the workings of the solar system to being a detective, though I will acknowledge that one person has given a very good answer which I hope those for whom this is relevant will find useful.

Although this is already quite nicely written, just to add to it; most of the disputes teams operate in a very limited sphere of law where the Senior Partner has built a reputation, which is counterproductive for the growth of young lawyers (A0-A2) as it severely limits their exposure to different areas of law (can’t emphasise on how important it is, if you actually want a successful career in Disputes, be it in a Firm or a Chamber).

Also, WCC at Firms is a sham of what actual criminal work looks like in Courts. If you have the slightest inclination of practising criminal law then you’ll have to start with Chambers and at District Courts, there’s no way around it regardless of what people may tell you.

Actually NUJS should undergo a forensic audit. Certainly NKC era but also the entire time from PIB onwards. Lord Taluk and his buddies Kishore and Ashim completely squelched all the inquiries as soon as Arun Mishra retired from SC (and by extension EC). Just go through the records. The trajectory and intent was very clear - since the then SJA was unrelenting in exposing corruption, Lord Taluk and his worthy successor caused death by committees.

Then again the SJA now would much rather wag it's tail to...

idk how to go about this - I gave clat 2026 and to say it didn't go well would be an understatement because i ended up with an air 12,000.

I've always was never able to get very good grades because of the fact that i honestly used to lack discipline. i got low 80s in 10th and 12th, couldn't get through clat and also couldn't do Mhcet 5 years well. I am just....such a bucket of failure and even though i've started studying sincerely, the despair won't go away. My home life is extremely turbulent and all i want is to go to a T1 NLU next year and leave this place

I just don't know what to say... My mental health has reached an absolute all time low. I've started getting such dark, painful thoughts and have basically zero emotional support system at home. I've even started considering self harming again. This sub is always some how the one place that motivates me to keep going because of the personal stories that a lot of you share.

Plus I have all these questions like Are double droppers discriminated or treated differently socially? and.. even philosophically" if i get a good rank this time, will my previous failures still be relevant?

What are the skills needed to become a TMT lawyer now? Do I need to know coding? everyone hiring in the LegalAI space wants someone who has "built" something. Also, is TMT another hype that will die, I have enjoyed IP, Data Privacy work alognside DD in my TMT internships at T1s.

I understand LegalAI startups have a different need than traditional firms with TMT practice, but how does one make it into either? I am BO'27, any advice, leads would be of great help!

Unfortunately, Mamata will never come back. I will be surprised if her party makes it to the 2029 elections. My prediction is that the BJP will get a clean sweep of over 30 seats in the 2029 elections from Bengal. In the 2031 elections, CPIM will emerge as the key opposition to BJP while an alliance between Congress and the TMC will struggle to cross 10 seats.

Oh, I think it extends to some T1 law schools as well (or perhaps T1.5, depending on your point of view). I posted something on LinkedIn a few months ago about a certain professional success that had happened to me. Got lots of DMs from current law students asking about it and how they could follow the same path. Some of said students were from NLIU, and all of them began their messages with "Dear Sir" (I am not even 25 years of age yet). Reassured each and every one of them in those interactions that they could use my first name instead of all this "sir" stuff.
