What went wrong there?
The students end up suffering.
There were a few teachers who don't deserve to be faculty at a premier institution and were sacked.. credit should be given to the Director for identifying and sacking these people..
Other Universities have the same problem, but the spineless administrations do nothing about it..
We should be applauding the NLIU admin and Executive Council for their efforts.. and not make immature comments like those above..
-Students are doing very well in Moots and often represent the country and Stetson and Jessup International, apart from very well in National Moots.
- The placements are always decent with 40 of 50 students getting placed, with salaries as high as 13 lakhs in firms like AMSS, Trilegal, LKS, Khaitan etc.
-We have fantastic infra and great campus life with floodlit sports facilities, air condition classrooms, great landscaping and single room hostels.
-With those few teachers sacked, even the quality of academics will go up..
Life is great.. So stuff it...
That's why most people in the legal industry rate NLIU below GNLU now.
I can understand your angst and frustration as GNLU is not even talked about in the same breadth. NLIU has 9 batches in the market (the most after NLSIU, Banglore) the same as NALSAR. Its students are doing well whether in judiciary, litigation, industry or law firms. It has one of the best infrastructure with decent faculty (mostly from DU, JNU and AMU). Bhopal is a beautiful city with rich history and culture and to top it all is the location of the University i.e. overseeing hills of Vindhya mountain ranges and the great lake in its vicinity. And most importantly, the students are a happy lot.
A word of advice to all those who are ingrained to jump at negative conclusions: For anyone who has been a witness to NLIU this repeated barb does not cut the mustard. So put your energy towards bringing good name to your university rather than trainin your guns at others.
wow!!
Our media is two-faced. These Congress bootlickers are making a fuss about Kiran Bedi claiming airfare charges but they are quiet about this case and also many other cases.
NLIU gets only 30 odd GENERAL category students and still places 40-50 students.
Other NLUs get 80-90 General Students and place only 65-70 (NUJS, NLU).. so stuff it !
...absolute numbers...
whistles innocuously
Only 17 in Law Firms? and too most of the placements in tier 3 firms?
Forget the present scam, there was an even bigger and more shocking scam earlier. It was reported in a major national newspaper.
If, as pointed out by someone, that indeed was the case with these teachers then kudos to the director.
