Results for the 2014 Common Law Admissions Test (CLAT) will only be released within a week, with convenor GNLU Gandhinagar having to manually cross check all 33,491 answer sheets, CLAT committee member and NUJS Kolkata registrar Surajit Mukhopadhyay told the Times of India.

GNLU director Bimal Patel, breaking his long media silence on the debacle to the TOI, placed the blame squarely on the barcode sticker system attached to OMR answer sheets: "The concept of affixing the candidate sticker and the barcode was introduced to evaluate the OMR sheet without revealing candidate's details. The reconciliation will be done by opening the concealed section containing the candidate sticker and the details filled in by the candidates."

The Common Law Admissions Test (CLAT) held by GNLU Gandhinagar has seen the withdrawak of the results under further notice, only a few hours after applicants started alleging yesterday, as reported by Legally India, that major mistakes were made in the grading of many exam papers.

The official CLAT website announced yesterday, around 24 hours after results were first published on Saturday:

Due to some technical discrepancies, the CLAT 2014 results declared on 31 May 2014 stands withheld till further intimation and guidelines on the admission process.

The candidates are required to keep checking their LOGIN ACCOUNT regularly so that they can fill-in the preferences of the NLUs at appropriate time and also get the updated information about the CLAT in order to complete the formalities, if any, from their end. Any clarification may please be sent at . CLAT Helpdesk will answer to the query within 48 hours.
