2012 CLAT preference analysis: NLS strengthens top, only 3 prefer Nalsar, NUJS, as Nuals, NLU-O gain # Alum

Such sweet, sweet trolling from many above. And aren’t we all touchy and running out this weekend to defend our alma maters?

Here’s the deal. And we all need to be honest about this. As the no. of people taking the CLAT goes higher and higher every year, the difference in ‘quality’ of the top 200 odd rankers will be lesser and lesser.

No, really. It already is. And smart people, be it employers, or foreign universities, will sooner or later wisen up to it. So much then, for the ‘my wabooo strongest’ rant routinely ushered in by losers across the spectrum.

Another thing is, for better or for worse, there’s a noticeable increase in the no. of snobs getting through to law schools in recent years, and for the sake of all that is green and itchy, I hope every law school(and any fresher who might be reading this), does something about it.

The one thing all law schools could do with, is bucketfuls of humility. Maybe we could start here.

For those who made it --- Yes, you made it. Congratulations. Sincere ones.

Now, could all of us please retain head on shoulders and not contribute any further to the (often deserved) tag of ‘elitist-arrogant-irresponsible lawschoolite’? Sincerely, alum ps. Braccae tuae aperiuntur

Regular testing? really JALC? Looks like I have been blissfully unaware of these developments here in UK. There is a requirement for minimum ongoing training each year.

Practice certificate is re-issued each year but unlike the dead stupid rule in India which seems to blindly recognises only a self-employed black coat wearing LLB degree holder as an advocate (and funnily the profit partners of law firms!), SRA is a body created to specially regulate the solicitors, wherever they may be employed.

There is a different body for barristers. Wonder what will finally push the Indian lawyering profession to replicate this time tested mechanism in India and get over this issue and the added complication of non-regulation/recognition of law firms!

Before my self -employed balck [sic.] coat wearing friends jump in, a humble request, please leave us alone and keep your regulations and your court chambers to yourselves.

Let us regulate ourselves so that we too can create welfare schemes for lawyers employed by law firms, companies and government.

Traditional recruiters tug lighter at NLS Bangalore 2012 grads, Luthra goes strong; Desk jobs number less # Avada Kedavra

Look, I’m ex-NUJS. I love my alma mater but trust me, you are doing our ilk no favours with all this hollow chest beating if you are from NUJS and if you’re not, then kindly keep your unnecessary third party views to yourself.

This whole law school brand is a massive myth - truth is, even if it does give you a slight kickstart, it’s more important that you keep the job than get it. And once you’re out, NLS and NALSAR doesn’t matter because you are all in one ship.

Moreover, everyone in NLS, NALSAR and NUJS knows this deep down. If at all they indulge in this mudslinging, it’s because people like you stoke the fire with callous, baseless and unsubstantiated comments like the one above.

These institutions are proud of their standing and rightly so - it would make frequenting Legally India a lot easier if people stop having the SAME old argument on every single law school related post.

At work? Only a couple of douchebags really talk about how their college is better than the others. And nobody likes them.
