Hey guys, how is the scene at most of the newer NLU's? I'm a clat aspirant and i came across information that NLU's were recently opened up at meghalaya and Tripura.

I wanted to know how the scene is at NLU's like Nuals, NLU-O, TNNLU, DSNLU etc.
NUALS and NLUO are decent among the newer NLUs. Placement opportunities are not as good as NLSIU, NALSAR, NUJS, etc., but not bad compared to other options including private law schools.
Are you actively avoiding the thread where students and industry breadwinners are discussing about the pathetic condition of tier-2 and tier-3 nlus? If not then you have your answer I guess
VERY CONTROVERSIAL TOPIC.

For starters, just aim for the undisputed top 6/Tier 1 NLUs i.e. NLS, NALSAR, NUJS, NLUJ, GNLU and NLIU. After that it's quite messed up, but to say the least, HNLU, NLUO, RMLNLU, RGNUL and NUALS are some great institutes. A tier above the likes of DSNLU, TNNLU and CNLU for sure.

Mind that not ALL NLUs are worth spending money on; you would fare better if you do engineering at your local university rather than going for something like MNLU-A or NLU, Meghalaya, in terms of employability. I hope I gave you an outline to work with as an aspirant. Best of luck! :)
NLU Meghalaya, though very new, has started promisingly. The new VC is starting some interesting courses and specialisation and the high court CJ is taking a personal interest in setting up the institution. The VC also has a decent research background and will doubtless be focusing on that.
Can't shed light on other NLUs but for NLUO things are definitely going good. If to speak solely on the basis of placements, NLUO has been doing great. Around 70+ students got placed in our batch. These numbers, i understand, are comparable to that of HNLU and are way higher than the placement numbers of RML and RGNUL.

However, i do have a caveat. Under the new adminstration of Ved Kumari things are not looking very good, at least campus life wise. She and her stooges just run for any opportunity, they get, to make the lives of students miserable. I will not meddle in to the specifics, but they have brought in many so called 'Examination' , 'Academic' and 'cultural' reforms which might result in even jeopardizing your careers. In few years the NLUO will, if things remain same as they are, become just like any other traditional university where admin and students are always on cross roads leading to frequent protests and clashes.
From the look of things, the new administration is doing a lot of bad recently. They have come up with shit policies and any growth which is literally happening because of students might get stunted if they do not stop this now and support the students. That being said, any such change in the near future seems unlikely.
Among the ones that you mentioned only NLUO made it into the nirf rankings, and it too was placed at the 30th place.

I have been hearing good things about TMNLU as of late, so that place is improving. I can't really speak for the others. Most new NLUs are kinda bad and not worth it.
