We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.
Therefore, in using the site, you must agree to do your best to uphold these community guidelines.
Note that what you find here is written and moderated by anonymous people on the internet.
Therefore everything you read here is very likely unverified, rumour, speculation and/or downright false.
In continuing to read anything here, you must therefore agree not to take anything you read here as factual and that you will exercise due caution, diligence and common sense before acting on any information you may come across here.
You also agree to report any inaccurate or malicious comments with the buttons. Moderators take action within 24 hours, as required and appropriate under law.
Our full terms and conditions apply too.
Do you solemnly agree to all of the above?
But they shouldn't try to normalize it which is like liquor advertisements/tobacco advertisements for us and our youngins. Their attempts at normalizing it is the problem. That's marketing obesity.
>In 2013, leaked internal financial documents revealed that 58% of the ACSH's donations in the period from July 1, 2012, to December 20, 2012, came from corporations and large private foundations, many of which themselves had ties to industries. Donors included Chevron, Coca-Cola, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Bayer Cropscience, Procter & Gamble, Syngenta, 3M, McDonald's and Altria. In addition, the documents revealed that the organization had on numerous occasions directly solicited donations from industry sources on the basis of projected reports on the specific issues in which those companies and industry organizations had such a stake.[1]
Can't you find better sources than this or the Daily Mail for your bizarre anti-fat / woke-baiting / something or other crusade, or are you just not trying very hard?
I make it my self and somehow I don't binge eat as I feel I've worked for my food and I want to enjoy every bite.
I have now lost 10 kilos since December 2022 and I haven't been doing squat. Am just less stressed and have more time to cook.
I AM SO GLAD I LEFT MY LAW FIRM JOB.
Though I'm okay with looking the way I do (Am fat), I like that my body is reclaiming my stomach.

So unless you're a friend who genuinely cares and is prepared to listen, or a doctor, your fat-shaming is not actually doing either them or you any favour, but more often than not just an excuse to comment on someone else's body or stick your nose into something that's not your business.

Ironically, and very sadly, one of the founders of the movement, who herself was very obese, passed away recently at the age of 42.

This is why science and medicine comes first, not wokeness. If we see a fat employee, it is our professional duty and social duty to tell the person to exercise and avoid junk food. Whatโs wrong in saying so? We see traces of wokeness even in LI as the moderator seems to have censored some comments goading lawyers to get fit.
So, we don't have to fat - shame people by asking them, 'why are you so fat'? We can fit shame them, by asking them, 'why aren't you fit'?
Let's call this shame positivity.

I do see how lack of punctuation resulting in an incomprehensible sentence is buffoonery, though.

I would rather earn 50% of what he is earning and look chiseled, sexually attractive and healthy in my 30s.
another suggestion: we need to shame people who try to interfere in others' lives and can't just mind their own business (or is your life that boring, that all you can do to entertain yourself is look at other people's waistlines?)
Shame on law firms specially for making people sit in the 6:30-9 window when people can actually workout and remain healthy. Shame on every senior who expects their juniors to miss their workouts and shame them for taking an hour off for a run. โฎโฎโฎ
There has to be more honesty and shaming for lawyers not being fit due to work. Have some amount of regret you idiots that you are wasting your youth. Your body is literally your temple that houses and nurishes you 24*7. Have some respect for it and fucking try to be fit. And all you potato looking seniors, stop shaming your junior for getting that hour off for exercise. Like I said you look like shit, donโt make it happen for others.
