Let's give credit where due. The Shroff family has done a lot for the legal profession in the country. Some of the things we take for granted, including campus placements, were started by AMSS long back. Modern Indian law firms have a lot to thank AMSS for.
Not saying that it's all hunky dory. There were problems with AMSS and a number of them continue with SAM and CAM. However, one still can't take away the tremendous amount of work that the Shroffs have done to bring the corporate legal system where it is today.
Meritocracy is of course needed but its basic human tendency to help and expect help. That only comes from connections one makes over years.
CAM PR team loyal and hard at work.AMSS benefitted a ton more than help legal profession.And honestly they have held the legal profession back by decades lobbying to obstruct foreign law firm entry so as to maintain monopoly.Nothing was "help",let's be clear on that.See how badly they treat ppl at CAM.

How about he donates scholarships to private law schools like Christ, Symbi where we don't have the existing endowments and scholarships that NLU's have
If someone can pay Symbi's fees, why would they even need scholarships? It's better off donating to public universities to deserving and needy candidates.
Check the nirf data for SLCU Bangalore, majority of the students are from EWS . This whole assumption that only public universities have "deserving and needy students" is biased. Check out the NLSIU student diversity survey and the IDIA Survey - it shows a lot of students from the higher income bracket at public funded NLU's. By your argument, then even
