I don't want to defend drug usage, it has a lot of implications for sure, but it is not a single layer issue where you catch users and punish them and the problem goes away. The war on drugs is a concept that many nation states have tried and failed, let alone universities.
The idea is to understand the reason why are students using/abusing drugs. Working on decreasing the accessibility of drugs. Helping students through the process. A lot of people may just want to get high and party but I've seen a lot of users that did drugs for reasons beyond a singular or simple reason.
It's not a very uncomplicated issue that just needs strictness. The reason why east coast NLU admin fails miserably in getting any respect from students and why USA could never control the drug usage is the same. "The system does nothing to stop the promotion, the end user is punished"
Slowly upgrade your HDFC card with every promotion. In 3-4 years you might get HDFC Infinia - GOAT CC.
Or you can play the credit card game by getting a bunch of credit cards and maximise your cashback and offers. Technofino is a good website to get into the game.
But you may or may not have time to manage many cards depending on your practice.

Please advice me what my next course of action should be. The session has just started and I don't really want to be the weird nerd guy who always complains to authorities. I don't want any enmity with anyone but this problem is really affecting me.
I was a virtual intern so I canβt really tell you about the βcultureβ but the substantive work at SRL was diverse and involved preparing academic chapters, making advisory notes, solving client queries, research notes etc. on matters that included inter alia fintech, aviation tech, structured finance, FSR, TMT inter alia. Nothing was mechanical and critical thinking and arguing is appreciated :)
The associates seemed really helpful. However itβs more of a βdo good work, get good workβ culture. Moreover, the work is very team dependent. I knew another intern working in a different team and they barely got work and had to mail the team repeatedly to get work whereas I was never short of work.
Lastly, there was no stipend paid.
Hope this helps :)
See page 8, section 73. Bar & Bench's report did not mention this, but variosu journalists have tweeted about it. They are saying it amounts to censorship of the news media and social media, because it says publishing ANY matter related to court proceedings requires permission, or it can lead to arrest [where a survivor's identity should be kept secret]
avoid this firm for at all costs.

I think SNG Partners also have vacancy although disputes is not their focus area.
And mid level lawyer vacancy in chambers of Saket Nayyar & Pravin P. Muthmare, office being in Kala Ghoda.

Every state NLU campus should be raided along with some private law schools as well.

In October 2023, I joined a newly established boutique law firm focused on transactions. I've been working here since, earning βΉ35k per month. My overall experience includes 1.5 years as an associate and a total of 3.5 years, combining my roles as an associate and CS intern.
Currently, I am considering a switch as Iβm dissatisfied with my current pay. The firm has no leave policy, meaning my pay is deducted for every leave I take, and there are no Saturdays off. Although the work environment is relatively non-toxic and the work hours are somewhat flexible, the partner lacks expertise in transactions or corporate law, leaving me responsible for educating him and managing all client-related tasks, besides handling my juniors and reviewing there work. The work includes deal structuring, due diligence, drafting of definitive documents, and post-closing compliance amongst other things. Given these responsibilities, I believe I should be compensated more fairly.
I need your advice as Iβm uncertain about how much I should expect to earn at my next law firm. I believe that an in-hand salary of βΉ65k-βΉ70k would be reasonable. What do you think? Additionally, if I were to stay at my current firm, how much of a raise should I be asking for?
tell us your experience in either set of senior, how was your experience, how did it shape your career, what benefitted you, and what did you thought that opportunity lacked?
long term prospect vs short term prospect
any guidance from an experienced person will help, different perspectives and ideas are welcome
moderator if you can bookmark it, thanks.
At some point you start seeing right through the BS of badly run teams- itβs comfort in short term, the money hitting feels good but you know the team wonβt go far and youβll be facing the music of choosing short term comfort sooner than later.
While Iβm scared Iβm not unhappy atleast. Iβm happy and Iβm excited to build from here.
Unless there's something newsworthy that's happening in a court or there is a new law or regulation on reservations, or an institution changes its policy, the repeated bashing of reservation issue is mostly a political / culture war issue that is weaponised by trolls on both sides and doesn't lead to anything helpful or interesting for other commenters, and is therefore clearly contrary to the published guidelines.
Have requested the mods and would also request readers to stop submitting such obviously trollish contents, it does not help the quality of discussion (or voting) on the site.
How is pay, culture, seniors?
If you analyse the firms in Hyderabad, you'll notice that there isn't a single firm which has a renowned litigation partner. That's where the firms are falling behind. For law firms to grow in Hyderabad, they need to have a name in litigation first. A lot of the non litigation work in Hyderabad actually goes to litigation lawyers only. There are non litigation lawyers in Hyderabad who are making an insane amount of money. It's just that they're not from big law firms so they go under the radar.
The market is still developing. There are some tier 1s that are planning to enter/re-enter Hyderabad, so things should get better eventually. I'm sure within 3 years there will be a significant change in the law firm space in Hyderabad. But Law firms in Hyderabad can't achieve their full potential unless they adopt a different strategy compared to what they follow in other cities.
it's high time, foreign law firm should be allowed an entry.
how could you be gem in something which is already in infant stage?
new way to market your own firm lmao post on legally india.
Can i do the internship again in different team?
