I've heard that publications can add value to a CV when applying to corporate law firms. I'm currently in my fourth year at a Tier 1 law school, rank among the top students in my batch, and have completed a few Tier 2 internships. I was wondering how much weight firms actually place on blogs and publications compared to factors like grades and internships.

I also want to start writing more regularly. I've submitted pieces to SCC Online, Bar & Bench, LiveLaw, IndiaCorpLaw, and IRCCL, but either received rejections or never heard back. Could you share any insights on what I might be doing wrong and how I can improve my chances of getting published?

For now, I'm planning to focus on blogs rather than academic papers, given the time commitment involved. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

lol. just go to clubs or house parties. if you have a social life, and a "life" outside of law, you can easily date without having the need to download these weird apps, and trying this new running club. unfortunately, most people I've come across can't hold a conversation to save their life, and also most corporate lawyers suffer from high superiority complex, which makes nobody really want to be around them for long enough. further, the stress them badly too. to be honest, its just better to leave law I feel after a point, or to switch to a role which allows you the freedom and time to explore life outside. I wish the obsession with Tier 1, and universities alumni "class" ends, and people end up living for themselves, this is actually increasingly very unhealthy. having relationships is a very human part of our life, and most people if you interact they are so miserable, no wonder, they can't date, and not to blame them too, they tend to attach all value of self to their high paying job, and justify it with long stressful hours taking away precious youth.

The last few lines are really comforting. I think in law circles, there is a lot of pessimism in general, maybe its the law school, or the market, or the people, but it is, and can really add a lot to the existing worry in a student. I now just believe in the idea of putting my best out there, and then whatever the universe has best planned for me will happen. That has really helped me personally navigate through the stress at least. Im still in my 3rd year of law school, and when I look back at my own life, things have always turned out to be better, despite all the setbacks. Peer pressure, comparisons, and expectations are just something which I think everyone goes through, be it a law student worried about future, an entry level associate or a senior partner, so its a part of life I guess, but gradually does get easier. full time law student here, in 3rd year, with grades among the top of the batch. done internships at tier 3 level not above. no family law background. i manage my own finances. looking for remote work anything do to with research or writing maybe or anything, which can help cover small expenses for me until i sort things out for myself. it would be a great help if someone could guide or assist, if you or someone u know might be interested, also any guidance u have is also welcome. thanks!!
