I have 2.5 more years of law school, I have done 2 tier 1 internships and 3 boutique firms, where I have been on their tax and ibc/commercial law teams, mostly indirect tax in tax as well, how do I further my career, I hear tax is not a safe space for lawyers, pay isn't as good + I am based out of Blr and I intend to settle here itself, so I am mostly told that I will have to move to Del/Bom. I have a few queries, it would be great if anyone could help, I don't have as many people who could advice aptly. 1) what is the career progression in tax, if any? and how do I go about it? 2) is there a chance of stepping into commercial laws - like a basket of tax, ibc, securities etc?
3) what are the points on my cv I should focus to get there w this?
who are the partners who respond to internship applications, there's enough put out here about the same on partners at Del and Mum, but not really much on partners @ Blr
Hi Shreya, I have heard a great deal about your work and have been following you. I was trying to look up, but could not find, where your offices are in Bangalore. Would be great if someone could tell.
Shivadass and Shivadass Law Chambers, founded by Prashant Shivadass and G.Shivadass (was an executive partner at LKS previously) - what is the work actually like for associates? how is the work environment? what is the pay like? they seem to take up indirect tax matters majorly and other matters in electricity law etc. But it seems to be a growing boutique firm in Bangalore.
