Can you think of any other university in India where students would unilaterally write to Jagdeep Dhankar’s office and retract an invitation? All because he supported a law which the Supreme Court has also not interfered with? And which now has some justification after the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh?
Also curious how such rage disappears when it comes to seeking accountability from the admin or the state government.

We know that being in an anonymous space adds complexity. People share things in good faith, and community testimony absolutely matters. But sometimes, especially when topics get heated or political, we also have to think about how quickly misinformation can spread, sometimes unintentionally. So “contested” is our way of saying: this might be valid, but we need more to go on.
And you're right, our sources aren’t perfect. That’s why we don’t delete the content outright unless it’s provably false. “Contested” is more like a sticky note saying, "hey, double-check this before you go ahead with this."
