Wouldn't recommend living in dadar, the travel is a pain
Don’t stay in a Mhada building. Try to find a decent building, slightly old so you can save on rent. The space, sunlight, furniture - all matter when you come back home tired after an exhausting day at work. It’s the one place you can unwind and be yourself. You can skip fancy buildings with swimming pools as you won’t be using that (personal choice tbh). Get a gym membership.
You’re in the business of being “constantly available”. Don’t compare with Partners who travel from far. They probably have ancestral home there/ have more time flexibility. Stay within 1 hour travel of your office. Try to share flat with some other working professionals. You’ll have people to talk to outside law.
Staying alone is a bad idea - dealing with loneliness; no one has spare keys; no one to share house responsibilities + manage maid - when you have urgent deliverables, or late nights
However finding decent flatmates can be a challenge if you don’t know people in Mumbai. Difficult but it is possible. All the best!
A2 here - living in Dadar East.
When I moved here, I tried to cut down costs and moved into a PG with minimal sunlight, fungus and close to no space. I was practically living in a shoe box. Moved into a studio later - its fairly small but good enough for 1 person to live comfortably. Rent is 34K and is manageable. Never really lucked out with roommates but I really love my space.
