1. The point that "they have no business" asking for your social media IDs is very interesting, especially if you are a law student. How do you know what powers INS/CBP have or don't have? Also, are you assuming first amendment rights apply to you? Remembering that you do not hold a U.S. passport?

2. Remember what somebody else has pointed out, those are Americans, you are a foreigner. You are asking to go to their country.

You are the one begging them to let you in. Not the other way round. Us issued a mandatory social media history of past five years to get US Visa. And what do you mean by you've said the same thing said by students at Harvard and Columbia. First of all, they have no business to ask for my Insta and FB ids. But though I can leave it blank, my worry is that they can find me very easily because my name and surname are not that common.
