Closing the hostel gates by 10 PM is too early. At least it should be extended till 11 PM.
Looks like we are in Afghanistan. I didn't expect college life like this. I believe no NLU does like this.
By allowing more flexible curfew hours, the university would be fostering an environment where students are entrusted with the autonomy to make decisions about their own schedules. This trust is essential for their development, as it encourages students to exercise their judgment and understand the consequences of their choices. They learn to balance their academic commitments, social life, and personal responsibilities, which are critical skills for their future professional and personal lives.
Moreover, rigid curfew hours can often feel restrictive, leading to frustration and a sense of infantilization among students. This can negatively impact their overall university experience, as they might feel that their freedom is being unnecessarily curtailed. Extending curfew hours respects their need for independence and acknowledges their ability to take care of themselves.
And this is just one part of it. Imagine an entire semester with 60 working days. We're 30 days in, and what have we faced? Bugs, worms, metal nuts in the food – and yet, the administration has done nothing. Despite complaints, we are forced to eat that food because the administration refuses to take action. Attempts to address this via official mails are blocked. Students who try to raise concerns get silenced – they don’t want us united. This stifling of communication violates our rights under Article 19(1)(a).
May almighty save them from slavery and make them understand the value of liberty and freedom.
