All southern states have been following the same trajectory.
Despite the northern states, the total number of births in India per year has been falling since 2001. The population is still rising because the people are living longer. The population of India will peak sometime between 2050-2060 to around 1.6-1.7 billion and then decline.
If you have 5 min read https://theprint.in/india/indias-fertility-rate-plunged-in-last-70-yrs-population-to-shrink-further-by-2050-lancet-study/2012615/
The TFR of muslims are also declining in India but slower than hindus of similar economic status. This can be tackled by improving access to education and employment for muslim females (Bangladesh model). If you have time read the book 'The Population Myth: Islam, Family Planning and Politics in India' by SY Quarishi. The document which came out just before final phase of election which stated that Muslims will be the dominant population group in 2090 or thereabouts makes that calculations based on the current projections but holds the rates to be unchanged for the next 70 years.
Understand facts and not just get degree from whatsapp uni. I wish everyone would have some basic knowledge of statistics and not just be like NLUD during NIRF.
These universities survive on a shoe string budget as is. Sure maybe one or two faculty here and there donβt do as much as they should - but the cost of firing them - the additional work load on other professors - is far higher.
