this is real life not a joke. I have similar experience with an AOR, quite famous too. He asked "what will I get in return, if I offer you internship" and when I said I already have a bf he said "we can manage threesome". I felt awkward and never spoke to him again.

I am so sorry you were put through this! You were objectified by someone who should have treated you as a young professional and then your fellow interns were shitty enough to attack you instead of holding the powerful man responsible. This is horrible all round. Please know that none of this has any bearing on your work. You obviously have integrity and are honest with yourself.

The problem with these situations is that the people who are jealous of you (stupidly, because you're not asking to be treated like an object) will egg you on to get confrontational. That is not your responsibility. Your responsibility is to protect yourself. Be pleasant. Make very good excuses and stay out of his orbit. Ideally, you do not want him to get angry at you but you also don't want him to take liberties with you. Focus on your work and try to do it well. Don't undermine your own intellect or labor to make jealous people feel better. His attentions are not your fault. He may be favoring you for the wrong reasons but that's on him. You don't need to tell people you are worthless because you are not.

The world is full of powerful men who treat women like playthings and people who then blame women. This was a horrible experience but if you learn to trust your instincts and protect yourself, it will help you in the future. Sometimes the only way is to beg another safer senior for work or to quit citing a health or familty problem. But those are last ditch measures. If you can manage the situation and get through it without harming yourself, then that is a good way.

I interned under a very senior AOR in Supreme Court as a law student. Right from joining I could sense that he was always seeing be probably not in a good way, seeing my neck while talking to me and talking about random things like drinks, 5 star parties,etc while calling me in his chamber every now and then. Being only a student I felt really weak to take a stand while my friends who were also interning with me saved me a lot of time by entering in his chamber uncalled when he used to be with me unnecessarily even at the cost of getting scolded. He praised me in front of other interns while degrading their work even when I performed very average and snatched responsibilities from other deserving interns to give it to me. I felt bad. Even those interns started saying that I am sedu*ing him and I am a boot licker. But I genuinely even went to him and requested him to not give me new responsibilities but he didn't listen. I worked the best I could and with time I really started producing good results and I was punctual too. Once, he crossed his line by touching my waist but because it was for a picture, I don't know if I sensed it wrong. However, slowly I started maintaining distance and being slightly rude by not indulging in talks other than work related ones, I was sidelined. I didn't receive any certificates despite working really hard. I felt upset because my work was not rewarded but I didn't even want appreciation from a person who made me feel so uncomfortable. I am still in confused state over what happened but I feel maybe I am not good for corporate, probably I am weak idk.
