The president of Columbia went to congress and lied about the action she was taking against them at the time.
It is not in good faith to claim “Palestinians are not all Hamas “ when you don’t stop people in your movement from waving the hezbollah and Hamas flags. It’s not in good faith to claim that there are innocent Palestinians and babies that have been harmed ( which anyone would be sympathetic to) But then to use that sympathy to sloganeer about how you’re proud of the martyrs of oct 7.

This is called whataboutery. Read some Gandhi- or Mandela, or thoreaux- they talk about how disciplined anti-oppression movements have to be. If youre no better than israel why should anyone care about your cause? how do you make a moral case? No one is arguing that the war or the deaths caused by it are good. You are going to have a hard time convincing people that Hamas is not a terrorist group because of a political decision by the government.
if the argument is that Hamas is the military equivalent of the palestinian cause and that their actions are worthy of celebration- I dont know many people who would want to align with that. Or who would support the palestinian cause anymore.
if the argument is that the IDF represents all of israel and that Hamas represents all of palestinians- thats a remarkably amoral way of approaching the problem. If that were indeed true- why would anyone be persuaded to have sympathy for either side? why should anyone care about this conflict if there were no innocent civilians on either side?
Many NLU grads are directly or indirectly involved in the Columbia protests. They have also signed open letters against the unjust Columbia administration for cracking down on peaceful protests as well as generally supporting apartheid settler-colonialist Israel.
This video is going viral. It shows a girl student at Columbia chanting aazadi slogans in Hindi for Palestine. She could be Indian or Pakistani, but likely Indian because this aazadi slogan was popularised by JNU.
I support her FOE to criticise Israel and support Palestine. No issues with that. But I just wanna know why these people don't hold protests against China for their atrocities against Uyghur Muslims and Tibetans. I see the same thing in NLU campuses and Jindal. Bashing Israel everyday, silence on China.

And Indian government does not consider hamas a terrorist group.
