no, the incumbent 'legal establishment' is too strong to allow for any meaningful changes
True. Really it's wishful thinking, but imagine the kind of opportunities that could sprout out if we didn't have dynasts controlling this field.
Want opportunities in the UK?

Write SQE, clear it - you can write SQE 1 sitting in India, for SQE 2 you can either go to UK or get exemption if you have 2 years legal experience in Indian courts or law firms

Spend some time in UK, network

Its not so difficult

And UK law firms are slowly opening offices in India, partners have started visiting and doing feasibility studies
So basically a training contract? Right?

Can you expand a bit on the feasibility studies part? Sounds like an interesting development if that's true.
Can you tell specifically which UK law firms are opening offices in India pls? Thanks!
Nobody is. Partners keep coming and going, but our sister firms have indicated that they do not foresee having full fledged operations in India in the absence of an enabling statute (not confusing BCI rules)
Adani/CAM/SILF and the Deep State will take the call on whether to allow foreign law firms or not.
