As someone who aims to teach at an NLU in future, what do law students expect from teachers? And what's the most important among the three- knowledge, marking scheme or leniency with the students?
Zero knowledge, lenient marking, free attendance, notes before exam and don't try to be our friend or parent.
Mod, do not mark this as trollish, please. This is a 100% accurate remark on how Gen Z wants their profs to be.
Not at NLS. The silent majority is still in majority.
Free attendance, easy grades, easy on plagiarism detection, less than 100 pages of notes to study for the sem. That's what an NLU teacher needs to do in order to gain popularity among the students these days. Knowledge is okay, not essential.
Don't generalise all NLUs. These kind of teachers only fly at NLUs from NUJS and lower. Top 3 don't have this low of expectations.
Lol, it's the same deal everywhere. Only at NLS does the admin expect otherwise, but even there majority students want the same.
Even I had a teacher like that. However, while I and a few others loved his classes and assignments, most of my batchmates chose not to attend and did badly in the exams.
NLUO had Abhik Majumdar who used to teach like this. Even in online MCQ exams where people had Google by their side, they were not able to score more than 60% because they didn't hear what he taught in class.
My Corp Law teacher had given us such an exam. It was tough, but I enjoyed it, especially since there was no ratta involved.
(1)Teaches in an engaging way

(2)Must be able to control the class

(3)Lenient grading

(4)Good feedback and exam preparation help should be offered to students

(5)Teach practical applicability of laws with simulation examples
Lenient grading ? BC paper mei tatti karoge aur chahte ho professor saaf kare. The skid marks should reflect on your report cards. Rascals !
Arey BC lenient grading ka matlab wo nahi. I meant that proff shouldn't cut marks if I didn't write AIR_ SC_ for a case law I cited, or if there are small spelling mistakes or if I have used short forms to save time during exam
Why exactly shouldn’t marks be cut for β€œsmall spelling mistakes”? This generation is a different level of entitlement
Lack of object permanence.

I want them to forget my face immediately so I don't have to deal with the fall out of pissing them off.
So basically you don't want consequences for your actions? Understood, but not understandable
Who said I am pure as milk? They asked the question, and I answered.
Good Marks in projects, mid sem aur end sem mein score karlunga
The moderator should stop policing this thread, because many true replies are being flagged as trollish.
At NLUO, we have such great teachers who are knowledgeable, supportive, intelligent, human, qualified, and more...

Can't expect anything else
The point of statutory interpretation being jurisprudencial is so on point. Like, we've been wishing better corp law courses instead of some nonsense philo courses.
So why are you not asking the admin to recruit such specialists? NLS recruits twice a year now, a fantastic feat to be done regularly by any law school in India.
NLS students themselves lack the knowledge to judge other's lack of knowledge. At least insofar as the current crop is concerned.
Stay out of my way. Stop insulting my intelligence by imposing your politics on me. Understand I am in your class only because the BCI mandates it, so please allow me to do my thing so long as I don’t disturb the class.
